Just thought i'd stop by and say hello! I have been using this forum for so long but never scrolled down to find the Aussie thread! I am a DVC member from Sydney - We love Disney, our past trips have included HK Disneyland x 2, California Disneyland x 2 & most recently Aulani with another upcoming trip back there this year! I look forward to participating in your posts, its nice to see other fellow Aussies with an interest in Disney like me! :)

Welcome meemoo, I am sure everyone will enjoy having you around::yes::

There are a few DCV members here and they are always a wealth of knowledge. How was Aulani? would love to make it there one day.

Thank you for the welcome Zaccy. Aulani is just beautiful, I could easily spend a year of my life there! It has a lovely Hawaiian theme with a touch of Disney, you can tell it had a lot of thought go into every part of it. Really great if you have small children, and want a relaxing holiday.

Welcome to the Dis!

Welcome to the Aussie section, and Welcome home ;) there are a few DVC owners here!

Welcome Meemoo, I don't think I can outdo PIO's welcome. Glad you finally found us. :goodvibes

Welcome to the Aussie section. Where is your home resort.

Yes Welcome and, just in case you don't know, although this is called the Australia forum, it is otherwise known as the ANZAC forum! :cheer2:

Travel Mum - Just reading the places you have traveled to: How did you find Disney World in comparison to Disneyland - is it worth the extra plane trip?

YES, YES, YES!!!! Whilst I grew up loving Disneyland and still do, visiting WDW was the pinnacle for the Disney-lover that I am! Given a choice now, I'd fly the extra and visit WDW anytime over Disneyland :cool1:

To me, WDW is like Disneyland on steriods :rotfl2: And staying onsite at WDW means you have total Disney immersion :thumbsup2

Exactly what I thought - We were planning to go to Disneyland for their 60th anniversary in a couple of years. Since we have been twice, the kids have not though, they've done HK Disney twice. Maybe, we can make it a stop over to see Carsland & World or Colour, then venture to the other side to break the trip. How far is the flight from LA? Do you ever see any good airfare deals that include the stop over in LA? :)

Hi Meemoo! and welcome to the ANZAC DIS :wave2:

You MUST go to WDW!! Disneyland is wonderful but WDW is....hmmm..can't find the words :cool1:

If you can't get a good deal with one airline all the way to Orlando you'll find that you can often get fantastic prices on USA domestic cross-country flights. You just need to book your SYD-LAX and domestic USA flights seperately. Virgin America have some great prices cross country and if you're a Velocity member you get points :)

Also, if you are a Qantas FF you can use your points to book domestic airline flights with American Airlines ( and avoid the horrendous taxes that Qantas charge these days)

You'll find heaps of great advise on here for Aussies travelling to WDW

If you go to WDW with Qantas you can catch the flight direct to Dallas and then AA to Orlando. Take the return trip back via Dallas or LAX to Honolulu and stay at Aulani on the way home.

We usually book the AA flights and pay them direct.
