This will be my first attempt at a PTR. I’m not a very creative writer so this might end up being rather dry and boring but I’ll give it a shot anyway. :tink: Maybe a little pixie dust from Tinker Bell will make it less boring.

If you were to ask my husband what he would most like to change about me he would probably say .. “I wish my wife would agree to vacation somewhere besides Disney World”. We met four years ago and celebrated our 2nd anniversary last week. During the past four years I have been to WDW a total of four times with a fifth trip planned for September.

My husband has joined me for two of those trips. I threatened to never return again with him after our first trip together because so much time was spent outside the gates of WDW. :confused3 We hit an outlet mall, two music stores, attended an Orlando Magic basketball game and did not enter the gates of the Animal Kingdom. Granted we had a nice time but I did NOT see enough Disney. :sad2:

He reluctantly agreed to let me plan a girls trip the following year and vacation with my Mom and DD. That trip was a near disaster when my Mom sprained her ankle the night before our flight and was wheelchair bound for the entire trip. We learned how to adjust at a slower pace and managed to have a good time. DD was 9 at the time and enjoyed having a place to sit (Grandma’s lap) anytime we were standing in line.

Last year was our first “family” trip with just the three of us. We stayed off site at Windsor Palms (at the same condo DH and I stayed at in 2009). We enjoy the space a condo provides but I still really miss the magic of staying onsite.

Somehow I managed to talk DH into letting me run away to WDW last December for a whirlwind trip with a fellow Diser. Melissa had to be in the area for work and was planning to stay over for a weekend at WDW. I flew down on a Thursday after work and returned on Sunday morning. DD was at her Dad’s house on Thursday night so she didn’t realize I was gone until after school on Friday. I thought it would be a great idea to have my Mom, Grandma, and Great-Aunt come visit and spend the weekend with DH and DD. They aren’t so sure that was a good idea. DD was missing me terribly. She thought I was just out of town shopping for Christmas and had NO idea I was really at Disney World without her. I had no idea how difficult it would be to take her calls. Everywhere you go in the parks there is something in the background to give away your true location. I was constantly sneaking off in search of a quiet corner to return her calls and listen to her pleading for me to just stop shopping and come home. She was really mad when she found out I was at the Magic Kingdom with Justin Bieber. I had no idea he was going to be there that weekend. She’ll never let me live that trip down.

I came home from that whirlwind trip thinking I could wait until 12/13/14 when we return to celebrate my 40th birthday (My birthday is actually 6/19 but 12/13/14 just sounds like it will be so much fun so we’ll wait and return during the Christmas season) but here we are counting down the days to our next adventure which begins on September 5.

Happy Late Anniversary! My DH and I celebrated our anniversary last week as well. :goodvibes

The last few visits we stayed off site in a condo too. I LOVED having the extra space and to be paying 1/2 the price you would on Disney property. Like you said though the magic just isn't the same. We're going to stay onsite this year, it'll be a first for my kids. It's going to be hard being in a smaller room, but there's just something about being surrounded by all things Disney. I can't wait!

Anyway, I look forward to reading more.

Yeah .. I have a reader. I was actually contemplating removing it all together as I am not a very public person but for some reason I thought it would be fun to do a PTR. I'll work on adding pictures tonite.

Happy anniversary to you too!! I would agree 100% that there is just something about being onsite. I would gladly squeeze into a motel room but DH just is not onboard with that idea at all so I won't push it too far.

Me: Almost 38 years old (big day is tomorrow). :bday: (We'll celebrate a week late because DH is working tomorrow and DD is gone to her Dad's this week). We live in a tourist town so finding work that doesn’t require nights and weekends is very hard to come by. I have worked many jobs during my 20 years of living here but for the past 9 years I have been working as a legal secretary.

DH: His birth certificate claims he is a 50something year old but he looks about 40 and acts about 12 (on a good day). :clown: DH and I are exact opposites. He is loud and funny .. I am very very quiet and reserved. We own a show here in town that he performs in and he does late night gigs about once a month.

DD: My daughter is 10 going on 25. I have turned her into the Disney planning nut like I am. :rolleyes1 She overheard friends making their summer plans at school and started asking questions but none of them knew any details other than they are going to WDW. She just knows they are going to have a bad time because nobody “just goes to WDW”. LOL I’m a little hesitant about taking her out of school at the beginning of the school year but she’s a great student and should have no problems. She’ll be in school about two weeks then we’ll pull her out for a week for vacation.

** I will work at figuring out how to upload pictures to the PTR tonight. Although it might be better to remain anonymous. I know if I asked DH he would definitely say to keep his face off of here. He’s not into the Mickeymania like I am. **
I'm nervious about taking DD out of school too. She'll be attending a new school this year and I'll be taking her out for 5-6 days. I just need to make sure she have perfect attendance up until we leave and when we get back. Then there is DH... Poor guys is going to be 2 or 3 days short for vacation time, but luckily he can borrow up to 3 days (I think) but that means NOOO time off until November.
