Can't bear all the code talk, this is the RESORTS forum, let's talk about something

Hi Andrabell. Where are you staying? Christmas is my favorite time at Disney. If you get a chance be sure to go to MVMCP (snow on main street, hot chocolate, the holiday parade) and check out the great decorations at the resorts. We will be at the World in December too and are trying to decide where to stay. Of course we will probably change our minds 50 times between now and when we make our reservations. But..to me.. planning is 1/2 the fun. :wizard:

Hi Sherry! We arrive on the day before Thanksgiving, staying one night offsite and then we check in at Coronado Springs on Thanksgiving Day. Our last trip was Thanksgiving 2003 and nothing is better than Disney at Christmas. The sights and sounds and OH! the smells, it's like apricot and sweet cloves. :wizard: We did MVMCP last time and it's on the agenda for this trip, such a magical night. We visited all the deluxe resorts for meals and decorations peeping and I get choked up just thinking about it. The Grand Floridian just blew me away, it was like a dreamy winter wonderland. And I've seen piccies of Coronado Springs at Christmas and they look like they do a very magical job at it there, too. So excited. My mousetrack isn't moving fast enough!

This thread it so great, thanks to all of you for keeping it going!

I want to keep this thread going... I cannot imagine how magical it must be to be there with Christmas decorations!! How wonderful. To me, the magic of staying in the resorts is not ever having to leave the magic until you actually have to go home. You are truly in another world, and for that brief time you can set aside your worries of life and enjoy a place so unlike anything else on the planet. I could spend days just studying the architecture of all the resorts (not that I don't love the parks too!). Our first visit to Poly and Boardwalk Inn is in May. Boardwalk just has that happy carnival atmosphere that brings out the child in all of us. Can't wait to see what it's like to actually stay at Poly!

I love the special channels,on the resort tv's where they give a summary of what's going on in the parks...opening hours, weather and emh parks, that and Krissa, if she's still on.....

That's what sooo special about a Disney resort, open the TV and you feel like you're already in the parks...

Well done Andrabell. I was so sick of all the code/rate talk. It was making me crazy

For some reason something about the disney buses is magical to me! When we first arrive in WDW and pass one of Disney buses on the way to our resort or see people boarding to go to the parks when we are checkin in, it just gets me excited about our trip!

OK ..who knows of any other resort in the world (lol..the real one) that has a savvanah...I don't!

Also..being with someone who is seeing the "world" for the first time...it's like living through them over and over..

and the excitiment you get when you get there..even if you have been there many times!

I know what you mean about being with someone who is seeing WDW for the first time. We will be with friends of ours for the first day of their vacation down there. They have two kids. We can't wait to be with them when they see everything for the first time.
Especially since we don't have kids . :wizard:

~I love that you can see the EWP from the Poly beach.
~I love that the geyser erupts at WL regularly.
~I love that you can ride the monorail and do the "hotel tour".
~I love the fact that the BC has Beaches & Cream in it.
~I love SAB.
~I love watching the golfers from my balcony at OKW.
~I love looking at all the lights on the Boardwalk.
~I love CSR at night...the soft romantic lighting is just beautiful.
~I love the serene, sort of rustic "feel" at POR's Alligator Bayou section.
~I love how well they captured the look of New Orleans' French Quarter at POFQ.
~I love looking at the animals in the evening at AKL.
~I love looking over from Epcot and seeing the swan and dolphin statues way up in the air.

Whenever we're in our room, we keep the tv on one of the Disney channels, usually the one that tours the parks and resorts. I don't even want to know the outside world exists from the time my plane lands, until I arrive back at the airport. I wrote on another thread, how one early morning while having coffee in the lounge at Ohana's, the tv was tuned to CNN, I had to get up and sit somewhere else, I felt like the outside world had intruded on my dream state
