canopy question for tent camping

How tall would a 10 x 10 canopy be? This has been recommended to us to use over our tent, but I want to make sure that our tent is not too tall. Any suggestions?

We own a 10 x 10 canopy and I'm going to guess it's around 6 1/2' in the center. I spent all last summer underneath it at our local farmer's market so I'm going on what I remember!
