A friend of mine currently shoots with a Canon film camera (Canon EOS 630). She also has a couple of Canon EF lenses and was wondering if they were compatible with the newer digital bodies?

Thanks

If they are EF mounts they should work. What lens are they and what camera body do you have?

I don't know if this is universally true for all EF lenses or not....but.....EF lenses are marked with a small red dot. The EF-S lenses are marked with a white rectangle on the side.

If your friend is going to check out camera bodies, she may notice that there is both a small red dot and the white rectangle on where the lens mount is.

If there is both, then the camera body will be compatible with the EF lens and the EF-S lenses. She just needs line up the appropriate dots to mount the lens.

All Canon EF lenses will work on any Canon DSLR. There are some compatibility issues with third party EOS mount lenses, especially old Sigma lenses.

Thanks for the info. She will be happy to hear the lenses are good for a digital body
