I'm leaning toward buying the Canon 60D. I still need to do a little more research, but I'm currently looking at prices on Amazon.

They offer two different lenses. (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-60D-3-0-Inch-18-200mm-Standard/dp/B0049WJWJ0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top)

A 18-135mm lens and a 18-200mm lens. The price difference is $200. After spending that much on the camera, an extra $200 isn't a huge deal to me, but does anyone have an opinion on the lenses? Is it worth the extra $200?

EDIT: Never mind. I just noticed the other lens is not sold through Amazon.

if you're starting out with DSLR's most would recommend the 18-55IS and 55-250IS combination, the wider zooms like the 18-200 and 18-135 are more versatile.

The word is that Canon is coming out with a 70D soon to replace the 60D. Just in the past couple days there was a deal on Slickdeals (now expired) to get the 60D with the 18-135 lens for $899.

If you're interested in the 60D I'd hold on a bit and watch for more great deals to come.

Thanks. I saw that thread, but it was too late once I decided what I wanted. I kind of want the camera before we go to California in July, but I might be able to hold off for a good deal. I just got a Canon G12 last year, so I have a good camera to use there, but it has made me want to upgrade.

Well, keep your eyes peeled. I bet others will let you know if they see more good deals. You would love the 60D.

Canon is offering a 20% off deal for their refurb cameras and lenses. The 60d is $640 right now for the body only.
