Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS sample shot

EXIF:

80% crop of the whole frame. It's razor sharp! In theory, the minimum shutter speed should be about 1/50 of a sec. I took this pic at 1/13 with both my arms partially lifted. Without IS, I can take this picture if the shutter is at 1/100 or higher (considering the way I hold my camera).

All things considered, the IS gave me a 3-stop advantage!
