We have a reservation at the BWV for next Oct 10-17 for a 2br Boardwalk view and I think we are going to be trying to change to a BLT 2 br. This is a food and wine trip, so it was hard to convince DH, but he agrees with my reasoning:banana:

We were originally going just my DH and I, and another couple that also do not have any children, so just 4 of us in the 2 br unit. Then we found out a single mom with 2 kids was interested in coming and everyone was happy to have them join us. I go to thinking about BLT having bedding for 3 in the living room and an extra bath room (would be an adjustment sharing a bathroom for us, a childless couple!) so I started trying to convince DH to call about switching on March 15. He finally agreed.

I am excited about having what appears to be a GREAT counter service at the contemporary. Think Chef Mickey's will be great for the kids. The 4 adults (us and the original couple) LOVE the Cal Grill, we did all the signature restaurants this past May and all 4 of us agreed that CG was our favorite night. :thumbsup2

My biggest concern is the fact that we are so used to walking into the international gateway for Food and Wine fest!

well nothing beats walking - but the monrail isn't too bad.

you at least won't have a problem going to Epcot - the TTC is the next stop over to transfer to Epcot monrail.

It is not like the Polyn and GF that has to go by the MK to get to the TTC. that might be hard with little ones, who only want the MK.

which view are you getting?

I think we are going to try for the Magic Kingdom view pixiedust:

Our second choice would be lake view. I just hope we can get into BLT! Our May trip was at AKV and we loved trying somewhere so different from where we own!

How old are the 2 children? Will they and single Mom be joining you for your F & W excursions?
Personally, I would not change resorts. We love the F & W festival and we bought at BCV just to be able to walk to Epcot. Epcot is our favorite resort. On our trips, we usually end the majority of our evenings eating in a WS restaurants. We are generally beyond the nighttime fireworks around the world and we love Epcot.
Our next trip in October will be different, as we are taking DS's gifl friend, who has never been. We are planning a Wishes evening as well as one night at the Hoop Dee Doo. I am already trying to adjust to the fact that we will not spend each evening in Epcot.
Have a Great Trip

i wouldn't miss walking to EPCOT half as much as walking home from the F&WF (especially after a few :rolleyes1 grey goose slushies, with a magarita or 2 as chasers).

enjoy!:)

I'm probably going to ask the daftest question in the World now - can you get a monorail from the Contemporary direct to Epcot or do you have to change at the TTC?

Good luck with trying to switch your reservation, by the way - we will be trying for one night at BLT for 1 November so it will be interesting to see if people are having much luck.

You have to change at the TTC.

I'd be surprised if a MK view was available by the time non-home resort owners call.

The children will be 6 and 10 then.

I was thinking MAYBE the MK view would be avail because it is so many points for a 2br, but we will try for lake view if MK view is not avail. IF neither is avail, we will wait list, and be happy with our Boardwalk view 2br!

there are 3 monrails - one is the resort monrail, one is the MK monrail and one is the Epcot monrail

the resort monrail - stops at TTC, Polyn, GF, MK, CR, TTC

the mk monrail - stops at TTC, MK, TTC

the Epcot monrail stops at TTC, Epcot, TTC

so to get to Epcot from BLT you need to change to the Epcot monrail at TTC.
