As several other folks have mentioned, I also keep some around for "emergencies." I buy the all white organic Valley brand, and it's really ok. Is it as good as fresh rotisserie chicken? No, of course not, it's canned. Nothing that is canned is as good as fresh. But it's definitely good enough in a pinch/emergency. We have been without power here for a week before.

I don't want to say here what it reminds me of.
as they are too high in salt and weird flavorings. But, the Great Value cans are somewhat neutral tasting, so I can mix them with mayo, curried mayo, put in a pasta salad dressed with olive oil & vinegar, or even toss it in with ramein noodles and the flavoring packet, and the chicken doesn't interfere with any of those flavors.
