Canker Sores

I have about 5 canker sores in my mouth. I can't eat, I can't talk.

This is killing me. Does anyone know of any medicine, or anything else that

A.prevents them
B.Numbs them
C. Treats them, and maks them go away sooner.

hmm i had tongue surgury and had to have some of my tongue cut off, too much info sorry. but what i had was caused by canker sores.. and they told me to use a paste like stuff thats called "orabase." now i have no idea if you should use it or not but definately look into it, it works wonders.

Carmex!

I have the kind that you squeeze out onto your lips and it really does help.

Um I don't know if INSIDE your mouth,because it has a nasty taste.

But carmex helps treat them.

I had this stuff once and I swear, it sucked ALL thew moisture from my mouth, but it helped the sore.

Dont eat anything too acidic..

I used Colgate Orabase for my Canker sores.

Any mouth sore that does not heal after two weeks should be looked at by a dentist or an oral surgeon as it could be a sign of a more serious condition such as oral cancer.
Maybe you should have them checked too by a dentist.

I have never had a canker sore. I have only ever had a cold sore.

What Are Canker Sores?
Canker sores are little ulcers inside the mouth that cause discomfort. If one has a sore on the outside of their lip, it is likely a cold sore, which is very different. Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex 1 virus and can be spread to others. Canker sores are not contagious, just unpleasant and uncomfortable. Most canker sores are less than 10 mm, heal without scarring, and are defined as minor aphthae. Major aphthae account for 10% to 15% of canker sores and are larger, deeper, and more painful. Both canker and cold sores usually last 1 to 2 weeks; however, major aphthae last significantly longer.

I had one on the tip of my tongue yesterday. I took a spoon full of salt and placed it on the canker. Yes it burned like crazy but the next day ( today ) it was gone. If you can manage through the pain then i'd go with the salt!

I use this stuff called "Kanka" I dunno if they make it anymore or not. Its brown and you apply it in your mouth. It numbs it and makes it feel better.

i use kanka to numb the pain and drink a lot of water and by the next day my canker sores are all gone, i don't know if this works on other people or maybe i am just lucky

Tried Orabase. Didn't work. I MIGHT HAVE TO GET MY TONGUE CUT OFF!?! Shoot.

I've used CArmex on my lips...but never IN my mouth...hmm..I'm up for ANYTHING.

We asked the pharmacy person, and they are ordering this new stuff, I have to pick it up tommorow.

They've been checked by every dentist, and or, doctor out there. They say its normal. My mom had them DOWN HER THROAT =o When she was my age,. and Still has them..

You got rid of it in ONE DAY. -goes and pours salt in my mouth-

Hmm.. I eat yogurt. The live bacteria in the yogurt helps heal it.

Take acidophilus, and put tea tree oil on the sores...

I get these two. YUCK! I just wait them out. My GPA said to put salt water, but it never really worked for me.

I used to get them all the time. The only thing that worked for me was Rincinol. That is the best stuff EVER. It doesn't just numb them, it covers them up. And all you have to do is rinse it like a mouth wash. It's like 8 bucks for a bottle, but it's sooo worth it, and it lasts forever.

Well, I hope they go away soon.
Also, I've heard that rinsing your mouth with warm salt water helps take the pain away but I also heard that it tastes disgusting.

I have like sores all over my mouth from my braces.
My teeth have m oved a bit, so the last two braces on the right side are hooking onto my mouth (one of them has a protruding wire, but it's too short to get the ortho to cut it)
And then, I have one on the front of my mouth from sleeping. There's like an ident there from the braces.
