Any thoughts on these two. I have read many reviews and Candy Cane seems to come out a bit better. Breakfast seems better at Candy. Price is a bit better at Jolly. Both seem about equal on distance, pools and rooms.

Any other comments?

Thanks
Diana

I have never stayed at either hotel, but the Candy Cane seems to get beter reviews. My DH and I drove past the Jolly Roger a few years back and thought that it had sen better days. But they usually have good deals.

Candy Cane looks better though I've never stayed at either. If you want the closest and nicest looking off site, I would suggest the Park Place Inn (best western) very nice and close, close, close!

oh god there is no comparison...Jolly Rogers no way!!! Jolly Rogers is not even in the same class as CC....I would never ever stay there...

Candy Cane in wonderful!!!!!!! Saying that the Joly Roger has seen better days is, well, a very thing to say!

I agree with above...Candy Cane for sure! ::yes:: We have stayed at CCI and our friends stayed at the Jolly Roger....it was OK but there is no comparison.

Here's another vote for Candy Cane. We stayed there for a couple of days and it was very nice. Healthy enough breakfst. Free candy canes (a novelty for July!) and a 7-11 right next door. Very convenient location. The shuttle bus seemed to be always in the pickup area when we left the park too!

I've never stayed at the Jolly Roger but I think we ate there once for breakfast...many years ago. Nothing special...cholesterol full breakfast.

We just returned from an 11 night stay at the Candy Cane Inn and would go back in an instant! It was above and beyond what we expected. If you have AAA, they do give a discount...let them know when you book and take your card with you to show when you check-in. :earsboy:

The Candy Cane has it's own shuttle, but Jolly Roger uses the Anaheim transit system so you may have to stop at other places going or coming. Candy Cane has better breakfast, cleaner rooms, better service.

The Jolly Roger is ok if all you want is a place to sleep and cost is a factor. Otherwise you'd be happier at Candy Cane.

Another vote for Candy Cane Inn. I stayed there a couple years back. It was clean and had a wonderful expanded continental breakfast. I've never stayed at the Jolly Roger, but it doesn't appeal to me.

I hope somebody could tell me something good about Jolly Roger....please please please....anything? Has it been updated recently?

Nope, Sorry, I can't. My stay there was less than thrilling. Dated. Poor Repair. My room wasn't entirely clean. I won't even consider staying there again. Alpine Inn is much nicer in comparison and just as cheap. (although parking is incredibly tight. You'll enjoy Candy Cane or even HoJo's much more.

Thanks folks for the info. Taking your advise I changed our plans and we are not going to stay at the Jolly Rodger.
