Candy Cane Inn reopening date?

So glad he was able to get a reservation elsewhere. Still so bummed there won’t be a room tour on your channel. :(
I know! We were so bummed and looking forward to checking out the remodel at CCI. Hoping to go back when/if they finally reopen. ☺️

I was discussing this topic with my mom and what my mother thinks is that Candy Cane Inn is most likely gonna close for good and the owners will sell it. Another thing Mom told me is that the same owners of Candy Cane Inn used to own Carousel Inn And Suites too but they too sold it and closed it as well. I know this because my mom and I were gonna stay at Carousel Inn And Suites but they had no rooms so we went with Castle Inn And Suites instead. It seems that the owners of Candy Cane Inn really want to keep their hotel but what I think will happen is that Best Western will buy it and make it a Best Western property. Because Best Western is known for being one of the best and successful hotel chains in the world and they make success with any locally-owned motel or hotel they see. But I do hope Candy Cane Inn gets their troubles worked out so they can finally reopen again after so long

Just to clarify, I love the Candy Cane. Probably one of my favorite off property locations. But it was never among the cheapest places to stay. It was usually around $225-280 for the premium rooms. The standard rooms were usually $150-170.

You're not wrong; it was never the cheapest. I've always found it to be one of the best values in the area, though.

Your mom is very incorrect. Carousel Inn and Suites was owned by Wincome Group.

Candy Cane Inn is having the same issues as MANY other companies nationwide, supply shortages. I was hit in August, and my car has been in the shop since, and we HOPE I may get it back by November. Very minor damage, except 1 part, which is crucial for safety, which they are waiting on.

Best Western won't be buying Candy Cane Inn.

(ETA Fixed ownership)

Carousel Inn and Suites also owned Tropicana,
I know Tropicana and Camelot are the same owners, but I didn't realize that Carousel was part of that conglomerate before they sold to Disney? If that's true, it's interesting that they would sell off Carousel as part of Disney's failed eastern gateway project, and then be vocal against the project.

They became vocal after Disney was proposing to cut them off from an entrance on the Harbor side.

I can see it taking this long. I JUST got my replacement dishwasher installed. It had been ordered and paid for for 14 months. Many factors come into play these days and few things go swiftly or smoothly.

So, I just tried to see if they had any openings for Jan 2023 and both their "Book Now" and "Check Availability" links don't work anymore. They just send you to a crashed page. I emailed them, but my interest in staying there is quickly fading.
I find it mind boggling that any business can afford to stay closed for so long. Years!

I have something kind of similar going on. Our truck needs a new engine...as of July 2021. The mechanic couldn't get the right engine, so he is doing a rebuild. As of July 2022 he has 80% of the parts he needs. We never dreamed it would take this long.

The owners have been printing money (so to speak) since Disneyland opened. I doubt they are hurting in any way. I also believe they benefitted from the generous PPP loans that were given out during Covid. t gave them the time and the starting funds to do this major overhaul.

I thought it was stated earlier on this thread that PPP loan wouldn't have really covered this? Either way, it is a hell of a long time for any business to be closed.

I can confirm there are serious issues everywhere with supplies and labor! My son was in a car accident and it was a month before we could even get his car in to begin to get fixed! Then it was another 6 weeks before it was ready!

I am sure owners of CCI are just as frustrated as we are!

Not sure if anyone else saw (on Facebook), but they cancelled reservations all the way through October. What a bummer! I have zero faith they will reopen by our dates in 2023.
