We were planning to eat at Le Cellier but as of right now, it looks like it's only available for lunch (too early for us) Just curious where others are hoping to eat...

I guess we are skipping the CP dining packages and hoping for a short standby line at CP.

I was lucky enough to get a reservation for Le Cellier for Wednesday the 21st. I just have to remember to call on the 26th of July and have it changed over to qualify for the CP with the badges we need to guarantee us a spot.

I'm planning on booking Teppan Edo, I think. :confused3 I thought about trying Tokyo Dining (since it will be just DH and myself), but I'm not sure if the "meals from the Japanese grill" on the menu would be the same as the hibachi meals you get at Teppan Edo :lovestruc. I have only a few days to decide!!!

I've been going to CP every Dec (early Dec) for the past 7 years now.....I seldom see a short standby line. But, if it's a less desirable narrator, you may get lucky.

To the best of my knowledge, you have to make a specific CP ADR...you can't have an existing ADR and have it changed over. Otherwise, everyone would be doing the same thing. BUT...policy may have changed and I haven't heard of the change yet.

Do you have to pay up front at time of booking for the CP dining packages? Or do you pay at the restaurant?

I'm going to try for lunch at Le Cellier...it's one of a few restaurants in Epcot where I've never eaten, and my husband has requested we go somewhere I've never been (since I am the Disney vet of the two of us).

Since the narrator is still TBA for the date I'm trying for, do you think that will make the package easier to book?? I've never been to the world around Xmas time so I am going to try to soak up all of the holiday cheer I possibly can...including attending the CP...and since this may be my one and only holiday trip, I'm springing for the package so I don't have to worry about whether or not I'll get a seat.

That is correct, you will not be able to convert your current ADR over to CP package.

yes, the Le Cellier thing will not be a changeover. You will be cancelling the previous Le Cellier reservation and making a new one with the package. Already having a regular reservation won't give you an advantage regarding getting the package. So make the new reservation, and then cancel the old one.

Last year you didn't pay in full at the time of booking, it was a credit card hold only and you paid at the restaurant. This was so whether you were using DDP or not. They might change this but I haven't heard that they will.

Since the narrator is still TBA for the date I'm trying for, do you think that will make the package easier to book?

Not if it's Le Cellier. If you want that restaurant, book ASAP.

So far I am planning on doing Tutto for the 6:45 show. I will run it by dh again, I have 2 dates to play with but I really dont want to go changing all the other adrs I made. I think the narrarator for our days is Michael W. Smith.

I made a Le Cellier back up for a lunch anyway.

We are thinking of trying dinner at either France or Mexico. Don't think my in-laws will care for either, they tend to like more simple foods. I may book them seperately at Coral Reef.

Is it true that LeCellier is only doing lunch CP packages?

Yes, only lunch packages at Le Cellier.
So they won't charge my CC for the meal when I book, it's just a hold like my F! package was just a hold? We have the DDP, I don't want to have to pay OOP for the package & then wait for the credit back to the card.....

We are going to give San Angel Inn a try this year. Every year we keep saying we are going to eat there, but end up not going for various reasons.

On a related note, what advice do you have for booking the CP package? Should I be up and dialing the reservation line 15 minutes before the line opens. As I understand it the CP reservations will be opening up on 26 Jul.

thanks for the clarification. Just to further clear things up...

if we want to see the CP on the 21st, and we want to dine at Le Cellier, we need to call on the 26th of July at 7 AM, request the CP lunch package at Le Cellier, where they will issue us badges for guaranteed seating that evening. I will need to provide a credit card, which they will not charge, but I can use Disney Dining Plan credits to pay when the day comes.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

If I currently have both lunch and dinner reservations there for that day, should I cancel one/both/neither?

Thanks for your help.

I would wait until you have CP package booked then cancel the other ressie. You may not get LeCellier for package, but still have the ressie to eat there.
