Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

In December 2008, we had free dining and the CP package was only 1 TS credit. I don't recall if that offer was ever made to the general public. We had free dining plus a 25% room discount package offer through Disney Visa. I wasn't able to get Le Cellier, but I was thankful to get a CP package.

do you all think that we can make a regular adr at one of the chosen CPPkg. restaurants on the release date?

we want to eat at GG anytime during our stay..but we are not interested in a CPPkg.

do you think i might be able to get a spot through online booking...or should i bite the bullet and call on the morning of the 20th to book a reg. adr?

I would first try on line, we have been able to book earlier than they would if you called. If your lucky someone might cancel their regular dining if they get a CP. I currently have a dining reservation for the same night I hope to get a CP. In our case it is Christmas Eve so I didnt want to chance not having a reservation at all if I dont get the CP package. I will of course cancel my current reservation if I am lucky enought to get the package.

If you're not interested in doing the CP dinner package, there's no reason to wait until the packages become available to book a regular ADR at one of the restaurants that's offering the package. Definitely do the online booking.

i have been trying online...no diner adr's are available at GG, CR, LC, and one other..i forget...for the whole week we are at wdw...actually from Thanksgiving - Dec.there are no openings. my understanding this was due to the fact that they are holding spots for the CCP.

i have already booked adr's for our trip online..the online system is great..i prefer it. but if i could drop one of our current adr's and get one on any night at GG, my daughter would be thrilled.

i guess i will just cross my fingers and continue to check online daily for openings...hopefully after the 20th i will get lucky with someone canceling a regular adr.

thanks for the responses!

Ah, I understand your situation. Yes, many people have posted that they have booked EPCOT ADRs during that time frame and will be canceling them once they have their CPP ADRs made. That would for sure be the time to go back online and start looking for available slots to open. I wish you well in securing one.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can get a Le Cellier reservation once the CP packages come out.. I am going to be up early to get started.. I just want a regular reservation since I don't think it would be worth the extra table service to see CP when we are going in value season. I don't mind standing in line. If nothing else we can grab a couple of snacks and eat while waiting. I would also think that the earliest one would be the best one to get into. There might not be as many people but I might be off too.. Any advice to those that have been before?

So, where is everyone planning on eating if you ARE doing the CP dinner package? Since its 2 dining credits, we'll again do a top tier. DH does not want Le Cellier (gasp!) again, we've done it 4 times. We tried Coral Reef last year and I was not impressed. We also had Teppan Edo once. I think we might try Tutto Italia this year. Anyone do it last year?

Interested to hear where everyone else plans on eating!

We're trying a new place (we've never been there for the package or just a regular ADR): Chefs de France. Looking forward to it!

I still can't decide if we want to do a pkg or not. But, if we do, I'll try for Le Cellier. :goodvibes

We're REALLY hoping for Le Cellier! I have no interest in Coral Reef or Teppan Edo(I've lived in Japan among tons of teppanyaki joints for 3 years....) We may try for Chef de France or Tutto Italia.

DH really wants Biergarten, but as that's Tier 1, I'd like something a little higher up ;)

We're hoping for anywhere where there's availabilty for christmas eve :goodvibes although might try for Chefs de France

We are also trying for Le Cellier! We also gave thought to Tutto Italia or Garden grill as second choices. I wanted Coral Reef as a second choice but DBF hates seafood and I think we want to dine somewhere more festive :) July 20th is SO close! Hopefully we'll all have our minds at ease veryyy soon! :goodvibes

I am hoping for either a Le Cellier Dinner or Coral Reef Lunch(so I can keep my Le Cellier dinner ADR if I can't get it for CLP)

we will try for Les Chefs de France or Biergarten as our first choices, just because we have our Le Cellier and Rose and Crown dinners scheduled for times that are too late to take advantage of the package. Either one will be fine for us, and either the first or second showings. We are pretty flexible. It is just irritating that this is the ONE thing I still need to book, everything else is done!

Is the CP dinner package booking opening July 20?

Several weeks ago a CM said that I could convert my current reservation at Canada when they are allowed. I was told No need to cancel ...:thumbsup2
