Candlelight Processional 2016

Hey y'all. Help me out. We have never done CP before because we haven't been down during the time period that you can see it. We will be down 12/12-12/17 and will be on the Disney DP. How does that work with CP? Are the dining pkgs extra outside of the DP or can you use DP credits for the dinner pkgs?

The packages are 2 credits regardless of the restaurant.

Not all restaurants offer the packages. I did Via Napoli last year and it was around $65 with tip. It was for Whoppi Goldberg on a Saturday night. The packages are a flat amount for the restaurant regardless of what you order.

It's easier to get in standby mid week with a lesser known narrator. I was able to get in on Thursday December 11 for Ana Gasteyer about 15 minutes before.

subscribing...this will be our first time visiting wdw when we can actually go the preocessional. I can't wait!

Because we have to pay for it 100% up front at the time of purchase. We are DVC members so it is not a room package.

I pay out of pocket, we don't do a package as AP holders and it is not a prepay for us. Why is DVC different? You should get a better deal.

Hello, I am anxiously waiting for the schedule release for the CP. We live in Winter Park, right outside of Orlando and go to the Magic Kingdom, Studios and occasionally Animal Kingdom as much as we can afford but have never taken our son to Epcot. He is 9 years old. We are buying passes this fall when my husband gets his bonus and plan to "show him the world" at Epcot starting with the Food and Wine Festival. I have been waiting forever to have him discover Christmas around the World too so I am very excited, especially to visit the Christmas Witch in Italy as our families are are Italian decent. One question I had for those of you who have done the CP before is about lunch verses dinner. Perhaps I am confused on this part so please help me out if you can. Obviously lunch is cheaper which is helpful but it's a candlelight processional which I would think one would want at night, right? Is the area the performance is held enclosed so it would be dark with the glowing candles because during the daylight i would think the event would lose some of it's ambiance since the candles could not be seen as well. Anything experiences you have had is most appreciated! Also have any of you eaten at the Moroccan Restaurant? We love bright and colorful ethnic food and are up for new flavors but didn't know how Morocco stacked up. Thanks!

We are excited to see the offerings.

Can anyone explain how DVC members book? We get a discount correct?

The shows are in the evening with the earliest starting after 5 or do. We did a package last year at lunch for the second of three shows that night. It is held in the outside theater in front of American Adventure. There is a partial overhang over the stage and the front of the seating area. As for Morocco, we like the food and the entertainment. Enjoy!

The CP performances are usually at 5 PM, 6:45, and 8:15. The lunch CP package generally gets you into the 5 PM show, and the dinner packages are for the 6:45 and 8:15 shows, so there are no shows during the day, so to speak. It isn't completely dark at 5, so there is, IMHO, some loss of ambience for the procession of all the choirs with their electric candles, although it is pretty dark by the end of that show. I prefer the later two shows because it is dark then.

Thank you so much! That really helps me. Sometimes it's just worth the extra money. I cannot wait to see if Gary Sinese is back again this year!

I called to book some of my December ADRs today and I got on with a very chatty cast member. She shared that all call center Dining CMs had to complete their training for the Candlelight Processional packages by Friday, July 1st and that the CP ADRs would probably be released a week after that. I know this is not rock solid but it is a hint toward what to expect.

That makes sense. I've been anticipating a July 5 CP release date.
