If I purchase the dinner package for the Candlelight Processional, how do they know I have done so? Does it show on my magic band or is it a separate voucher or wristband?

If you BOOK an ADR as a Candlelight Processional meal,
that info will be part of your reservation.
When you arrive at the restaurant, the computer info will indicate that
it is a CP meal.

To be clear, nothing is ever "on" your MagicBand.
The MagicBand is used just to access the information files (tickets, ADRs, etc) that are in your MyDisneyExperience account.

And don't forget, there is special booking for the CP.....don't just book the restaurant you want to eat in and think you are going to be seated at CP. It is a separate thing

I guess I wasn't clear, I know the reservation for the dinner is recorded I was just wondering how the CP at the Procession knows who was a participant so as to get the preferred seating. Sorry I was unclear!

Correct, last year we got paper tickets at the restaurant for the CP seating that was associated with our reservation time.

And don't forget, there is special booking for the CP.....don't just book the restaurant you want to eat in and think you are going to be seated at CP. It is a separate thing

And this. Make sure you are booking a CP package. The booking will indicate which CP seating you will get based on the restaurant ADR time you select.

You are better off calling in for CP packages. Then you can select your CP time. I have breakfast at Garden Grill and an 8:15CP. The website just randomly throws in CP times.
