Cancelling sept. trips?

We are leaving 9-25 and it's hurricane season! My feeling is Disney in a hurricane is still better than being in a hurricane anywhere else and since I live on the coast of NC we see lots of storms.

We'll be there the 13th through the 19th and the only thing I really concerned about at the moment is the weather affecting the flights. Other that that, Mickey, here I come:banana:

You'll have to pry my park tickets out of my cold, dead (and wet) hands before we cancel this trip!!

:thumbsup2 Me too! As a matter of fact, I already have the dates picked out for 2009 if they offer the Free Dining bounce back while I'm there this year.

WHile I hope there isn't serious rain, I am hoping for some. I would rather be a little wet than unbearably hot!!! Leaving in 20 days!!! Cant wait:thumbsup2 :woohoo:

NO WAY!! A little rain never hurt anybody!! LOL

We are leaving Saturday, and are just as excited as ever!! Yeah, we may get a little wet, but hey we are in DISNEY BABY!!

My DH is an aviation consultant and trained as a meteorologist. He'd go sooner if he thought there would be a real 'cane! :lmao:

We don't see many up here in New England anymore. And I trust him to let me know when it's okay to get on a plane! :goodvibes

If anyone is flying, there's NO chance we're cancelling due to weather - absolutely NONE. :thumbsup2

We leave the 24th of Sept. Unless it floods somewhere along I-10 from Houston we will be there. We are driving because we are doing a road trip home, so I am going. It has been over a year since our last vacation. I need Mouse and Magic!!!

I'm in the 12th through the 19th. I will jump in the car and drive 24 hours from Chicago if I have to but I'M GOING TO SEE MICKEY!

Leaving the 12th from Central Illinois so we will be hot on your trail......
Safe Driving......:) :)

We arrive on September 19. I keep close track of the weather and I'll even consider driving from NY instead of flying if it means I can still check in on the 19th!

Dawn

We arrive on the 19th too! :cool1: I also DECIDED the same thing, if our flight gets cancelled, I will DRIVE! :scared1:

This is the time of year when there are one or two storms floating around out there anyway, so this is just par for the course when booking a Florida trip in September. Even if a storm does happen to roll through Disney, it usually is in and out of there in about 24 hours. Obviously Fay was an exception. But as was mentioned, the parks never closed due to Fay.

Enjoy the September discounts! :)

Exactly...every year sees numerous named storms form in the Atlantic, i think we become more hyper-aware of them when we have disney trips at stake.

First back in April it was racking my nerves with getting the free dining deal and now its constant worry about my upcomming trip. This will be our first time in Sept and first time at MNSSHP. I have trip insurance but have never ever had a flight cancled on us or delayed ( knock on wood). I'm watching this site and the hurricane watching sites and of course have the weather channel on. I will go if my plane lets me get there as rain does not bug me in the least. We leave on the 15th so I got two more weeks of worry blahhh. I hope everyone stays safe and or course everyone gets to see mickey.

I live in Florida, right on a barrier island on the Gulf Coast (Siesta Key) and I would not cancel my trip for that! At most, to us, it's a 'snow day'. We take a storm seriously, but still, we have info beforehand and like a previos poster said, Disney can handle it.

We leave the 11th from Northern IL for the 20 hour drive, there is no chance we will cancel!

Too funny!! We are leaving at midnight from Northern WI on the 10/11th. Safe travels for everyone!!

Amy

Too bad I don't have a trip planned for this week. It would be an excellent time for me to go.

We leave on the 11th for our 16+ hour drive.......no way we are going to cancel either!:cool1:
