1) I have been very disappointed with the increasing prices of National, and now it is pretty late to go another route for a reasonable price(less than 200)

2) Then I found out that friends that we are visiting are going to visit us at WDW this time(instead of us driving to their house in Orlando)...so another reason not to have one.

3) We are staying at BCV and VWL so we are close to all but AK...which is fine.

4) I called at 15 days out to book ME...and they said I would have to transport our own luggage on the bus when we arrive.(we will not be getting tickets)

So here are my questions
-Anyone have any grocery services they are happy with (I am a soda addict, and would love to have a few bottles, bagles, frozen waffles.. but not a ton of food)

-Will this ME with out tickets be ok?...Really important...DH is looking for any reason why we don't have a Town Car or rental.

-How much time do I need to leave for our return to the airport? Our flights are at 6pm...I was hoping to leave at 3pm. (I guess the checking the bags in at the hotel will be helpful)

TIA
Terri

No problem if you did not receive vouchers, baggage tags, etc. in time for your trip. Do bring a copy of your resort reservation.

You will be (should be) scheduled to leave for home about 3 hours before your flight time. You really should aim to be back at the resort an hour before that (4 hours before flight time) since you don't want some last minute mishap at a park to cause you to miss the bus.

Posters over on the DVC boards have been using GardenGrocer.com (I think there is a link on the DIS home page) for grocery delivery. So far reviews have been good.

Not true, you won't need to claim your luggage at baggage claim and bring it with you to the DME desk and then to the bus. Not true at all. For a variety of reasons, there have been many people who've used DME WITHOUT the DME luggage tags. After you deplane at MCO, go right to the DME Welcome Center (skip baggage claim) and tell them you didn't put tags on the bags but you want the bags transported anyway. They'll ask for your baggage claim numbers, and also show you a chart of photos and ask you to identify what your luggage looks like. Someone (either a CM or a subcontractor employee from BAGS Inc.) will go to baggage claim, claim your bags, and then bring those bags into the DME system. You'll get your bags delivered to your room the same as anyone else.

I was very satisfied with Gooding's (www.goodings.com), a local private supermarket. $50 minimum, $10 flat fee. Just like with your bags from DME, you don't need to be in your room and wait for your grocery delivery. Gooding's delivers to Bell Services, and if you're not in your room, Bell Services will leave you a message and they'll store your groceries for you, even keeping the cold stuff cold (Gooding's separately bags and labels the cold stuff). BTW, Gooding's has fresh bagels (as well as frozen, like Lender's) in many different varieties -- that was part of our delivery, and they lasted a long time.

DH will be happy -- you have NOTHING to worry about. As long as you have reservations and you're in their system, everything will work out fine.

Chances are your DME pickup will be scheduled around 3:00 p.m. for your 6:00 p.m. flight. As far as "the checking the bags in at the hotel," well, that all depends on what airline you're using. You can only use that service, called Resort Airline Check-In, if you're flying one of what's called the "participating airlines." If you're not flying a "participating airline," you have to bring your luggage yourself to your DME bus before it departs for the airport.

ENJOY YOU TRIP!

Thank you everyone...this will be our first time not using a carservice or rental car, ...I am looking foward to trying it out. :thumbsup2
