Cancelling A Reservation

If we need to cancel a reservation we have with Disney, what happens to the points? The res was booked with points banked from 2013.

Are there restrictions for the future use of those points.

Some of what happens depends on when the reservation is for and the use year of your points. All borrowed or banked points will only be good in the use year of the trip you are cancelling. If it is less than 30 days from the trip then there are a lot more restrictions on the use of the points. To really tell you specifically we would need your use year and the dates of the trip.

Thanks for the response! The trip is booked for October14 and I booked it using banked points from my 2013 use year. UY for this account is June. Therefore the points I used would expire on 5/31/15 if I did not make this reservation.

If it is cancelled more than 30 days out, do they go back into the bank?

Conversely within 30 days do points go into holding, or am I missing the boat on that one?

All points are returned to your account in the same status they were in before the reservation was made. Any banked or borrowed points remain as banked or borrowed.
