Hi all and fellow DCL cruisers.
We decided after much humming and hawing to cancel our reservations on the Eastbound DCL repostioning cruise in August 2005.
Why?
1.
I am pregnant and we have a disabled child. The room we booked only accomdates 3. In order to take baby we'd have to hope a bigger disabled room became available, or purchase another full stateroom , if one came available. This is $6000US +
for a abay. if Ry was normal, they'd have just switched us to a 4 person sateroom and charged us an extra $500 US. But she's not so we suffer.
Can't justify giving Disney more $ because child is disabled.
2.
We have decided to take the 3 + weeks and go to England, Ireland and Paris to visit relatives. We will take Ry to Eurodisney while there. She is still small enough for us to cope with the travelling with her and the baby will be easy as pie as he/ she will only be 5-6 months old!
We have family in all three places so it will still be an adventure!
However, we do have some regreats. They were a great deal of very kind people we were going to meet on the boat. Our cabin did not have a tub for bathing Ryleigh and a list of folks offered the use of there's!!! Also a group of folks wanted Ryleigh to get this trip of a lifetime and offered to pitch in $20US dollars each to help her go. That was so kind and thoughtful but if Disney can't see the descrimination in charging a family of a disabled person more money for an infant to travel.... than I can't rightly give it to them.
Hopefully we will oneday get to meet some of those folks while @ WDW.
For now... we'll just do our annual trip in the fall for RY's b-day and love it as always!
Suzanne
