I am just curious--has anyone heard about people cancelling their cruises because of the hurricanes? I don't mean the ones who have already cruised, but people cruising say in October. I wonder how bad of an impact this years hurricane season will have on next years cruises during hurricane season.

We are cruising 10/16 and have not cancelled. Crossing our fingers that everything will be OK and keeping our eyes on the Weather Channel.

We are also going on the 16th. Why cancel now??? If we did we would loose everything I am sure, and I am not going to give away all my points plus the cash we paid for the third person.

I agree, I would not cancel now, but perhaps you would postpone your trip if you were very worried about hurricanes. This being an unusual hurricane season I thought some people might get nervous.

I'm cruise 9th October, can't cancel, won't cancel, what will be will be , praying for a safe holiday.

Nope, still cruising next week and going with the flow. Just making decisions as events happen. Hoping for a safe and fun vacation.:)

Cancel...NO WAY!
Sailing on the Magic on 10-2. Reading all the recent posts about how DCL has dealt with unusual circumstances gives me confidence in sailing. I am fully aware that I might not get my original ports of call. I figure a bad day on the Magic beats a good day at work anytime.

I'm on the October 9 Magic also. Cancelling is not an option. I am already going into vacation mode. As long as we leave port, we can sail in circle for all I care. I need a vacation!

We only cancelled because of the situation that Ivan had put us in by the time we arrived in Orlando before our cruise - at that point they put him arriving in Cuba on that Friday which could have impacted the ship returning to Florida and we couldn't risk that because we HAD to be home on the Sunday after the cruise because I had no one able to take care of my daughter. Otherwise, I think we would have gone.

Plus remember because this is an unusual season, I don't think it will impact next year too bad, some yes, but I don't think too bad. Also remember that I believe during most of hurricane season next year the ships are on the West Coast...that will help some!!!
