what is the canellation policy especially within 6 weeks of vacation. What would I loose if I had to cancel due to my husbands surgery which would be approx 6 wks prior. I do have the insurance also. Thanks

Since you have the insurance and 6 weeks out is 42 days you should only lose the money that you spent on the insurance. Same would go even if you canceled at the 45 day mark since the trip insurance is non refundable.

If you didn't have the insurance, and you canceled 45 days or less before travel, you would get all of your money back except for a $200 penalty. This doesn't include air as that has separate rules.

I wonder if you can "reschedule" the vacation without losing anything?

Within the 45 days, you can reschedule no problem and no fees involved only if your new package costs more than the existing one.

Otherwise, you will have a change fee (not sure what it is now).

If they have trip insurance though, they lose that even when they reschedule. You can't move trip insurance.

I didn't cancel but I had to move my trip further out, from Septmeber 2009 to April 2010. I did it 8 days out with no problem.

i was worried about this as well, but heard you can move and not get charged extras
