Ok- My boyfriend and I are looking for rings and plan on trying to schedule a Feb 07 wedding. My boyfriend called and there is an opening at noon on our day - i haven't really talked to my parents yet - i just kinda mentioned it , but his parents have agreed to a Disney wedding. I'm waiting till i actually get the ring before i go into detail with them. Should I go ahead and book the day we want ? What kind of cancellation policy do they have in case my parents are against it? Also what do you think of a noon wedding - what times do you think are best? thankssssss

I believe you lose your deposit, if that's all you have put down.

Did you want an intimate or custom wedding? I'm guessing if it's just you and your fiance you'll be going for the intimate, which costs around $3000.

Well, unless you're willing to let $500 go, you might be out of luck when it comes down to booking a date and then cancelling it. They require you to sign their contract, pay a $500 deposit to hold your wedding date and location, otherwise there's no guarantee. If you cancel, they keep the deposit.

As far as times goes, they only offer particular times for certain locations. Some locations are only available Monday through Saturday as well. I've got a 2:30pm ceremony, but I know they also allow ceremonies at 10:30am . . . I don't know the others off the top of my head but there was one around noon and 5pm if I recall correctly.

I believe full cost of the wedding is due 30 days in advance, and you have to put down a 500.00 deposit at time of booking. The deposit is not refundable.

Here you go, I am getting married in March 07 with an intimate ceremony and this is what my contract states:

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellations must be sent in writing to your coordinator at least thirty (30) days prior to arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort. Cancellations received within thirty (30) days are subject to penalty. Notification of cancellation can be sent via email, fax or US Mail.

I'm having a Feb. '07 intimate wedding that I booked just last month, so it is possible to have it booked "last minute." I don't know if that was a concern or not, but TinkBride's right about the timeframe for cancellation, it would have to be by sometime in January (whenever 30 days ahead for you would be). You better get rolling though if you want to make it happen!

Don't worry and have fun with it. $500 to not be worried about losing the date sounds like a good deal- especially if you are a nervous bird like I am. I know of Disney brides who picked their date and planned their wedding 1 month before the big day! I am sure Disney has done it all and they will make it easy for you. I hope everything works out.

when i met with my wedding planner last weekend, she told me one of the reasons intimate planners don't know their schedules even as close as one month out is because they often have weddings scheduled at the "last minute" and need to be ready in case they need to put something together with minimal notice. and from what i have gathered from her, 3 months is MORE than an ample amount of time to put an intimate wedding together. so you really are all set if that's what you want to do!

and afinter1 is right--the available times for ceremonies depend on the location you select. i believe they can begin as early as 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

but whatever you decide, have a wonderful wedding! and enjoy every minute of planning it!

ok i am a nervous bird and don't like to throw things together! My boyfriend asked them and they said noon was the only time available so i guess i have no choice there lol. Also I just was looking to book rooms at the grand floridian and there are no openings. Whoever heard ! I thought there would be plenty of room at a 400 buck a night hotel .. I don't think we have enough time to do everything but my boyfriend insists that feb would be the best time. help

Also maybe since you can not reserve your rooms at GF you could try the Poly or Contemp.?

My best advice: get in contact with a planner and get a contract and deposit in there so that they know you are serious and ready to plan. Disney is amazing at planning, even last minute events. They can alleviate alot of your concern and help you with your stressful questions and concerns. But from personal experience, you will not get a ton of attention and concern unless you are on the calendar and the only way to do that is by putting down a deposit and signing the contract!

Good luck, you must be so excited!!! It is so close! Trust me, you can make this work and it will be beautiful and magical!! Don't stress, let Disney do that for you and just enjoy your planning!

We are having an intimate and I think we are gonna go ahead and put a deposit down for Feb 07. It just feels like we won't have time to get everything done.

You will be a busy girl that's for sure, but honestly Disney takes care of everything. You juts have to make your decisions and let them know and they send you a packet to fill out. You will just need to get your dress and your maids/flowergirl dresses.

For example, DF and i requested a contract and all on December 15, and we had everything decided, planned and sent in on january 28. And it has just been a waiting game since then. It was very fast and easy. Start gathering your thoughts and ideas on color shemes and theming now. That way when it is time you have a plan.

The biggest decisions you need to look forward to:

Flower choice (roses, lillies, daisies, etc.)

Color choice

Cake flavor

Songs you would like to be played

Minister choice (Disney provides a list for you)

Resort Reservation number

The rest is easy.

Get a vision, start brainstorming and you will be fine! i promise!

Believe me, you'll have enough time to figure everything out! I've only had three months to plan out our wedding, and just like everyone else has said, Disney really takes care of the bulk of things.

As far as the room situation goes, I know it can be tough to book a room for that time, but you might just have to settle for a different option than GF.

You won't regret it. Disney are fabulous wedding planners.
My parents didn't relish the thought of flying thousands of miles to a theme park wedding, they love peace & quiet in the Highlands of Scotland but you know they enjoyed it so much they would love to go again, it was an elegant affair that they will remember forever.

As others have said you will have plenty of time to plan in 3 months! Disney are great!
