Do you get a cancellation number when you cancel a CRT reservation? I just canceled a reservation for CRT (Sept. 10 6:50 if anyone is interested) and the CM told me they don't do cancellation numbers. I guess I just have to trust that it is canceled. I may call back in a few days just to make sure. It makes me nervous that my card may be charged when I don't show up.

They don't give a cancellation number. Just call back in a few days to double check.

I was told the same thing last year when I cancelled Cali Grill. I was a little nervous b/c they had my cc number but nothing came on as far as charges.

FWIW, I had to call and cancel a HDDR ressie ... they had my CC# on file but we planned on using DP credits ... anyway, I was issued a Cancellation number for it. When I called a few days later to change an ADR at Boma, I didn't get a cancellation number. When I asked for it, the CM said that they only did Cancel. #s for adrs with a CC guarantee.

I would call back too - I called and cancelled Mama Melrose and made a new ressie. When I called back to change the time on the new ressie the CM asked me if I still needed the Mama Melrose! I would not have been happy if I was charged something when I had cancelled it (or with all the talk about ressies being cancelled because of multiple ADRs when it wasn't my intent!). The second CM said she cancelled Mama Melrose but didn't give me a number - I'm wondering now if I should make sure she did cancel it!

As a former Disney Dining CM, I can answer this positively for you...

There is NO cancellation number UNLESS you pre-paid in full. Meaning if you just guaranteed with a credit card or are on the dining plan, you will NOT receive a cancellation number. Your original reservation number can be used to reference that specific reservation. It's always a good idea to write the name down of who you speak with too ... "just in case."

Not trying to argue with you, but as stated in my previous post, I did get a cancellation number for HDDR which WASN"T prepaid but only guarantees with a CC. (Maybe this isn't usual practice, but it did happen in my case.)

You were using the DDP with a CC guarantee. For those not using the dining plan HDDR is pre-paid. When you book it, they instantly charge your CC for the full amount and if cancelled they give you a cancellation#. They probably just treat all HDDR ADRs the same as if they are pre-paid.

When I originally booked CRT lunch she gave me the wrong date. She reversed it and gave me a cancellation number in case my CC was charged twice for some reason. :confused3

I have always been told the same thing. The original confirmation number is the cancellation number (in a sense). I was told that if you give that confirmation number, it should say that it has been cancelled. I too get nervous about this when I cancel ADRs that require cc guarantee.
