After reading the thread about the 67 code I've decided to cancel my ressie. Does anyone have any suggestions about some legit codes that they've used recently? I have the $35 off coupon, I'm a Emerald Club member and I have an Ent book. I'm needing a full size rental from Oct 31 to Nov 5-7. We're going to US 1st, and moving over to the WL Nov 4 and I want to return the car to the Dolphin. We're leaving WDW Nov 8, so I have some leway in returning the car from Nov 5-7. Any help would be appreciated!

We just returned yesterday. I rented with National and used code 5063773. I found the code on these boards. I had no problems with it. We went to Universal first and then stay at The Wilderness Lodge. We returned the car to the car care center and had no problems. I believe the code is a carlson travel code. I hope this helps!:)

Sorry, it turns out I have a coupon for $30 off the rental, not $35. I'm not computer literate, so I don't know how to post links, but if you go on National's home page you'll see that it says E Coupon:$30 off weekly rental

I still have all of my original reservations w/ the infamous codes because the current rental car rates are the worse I've ever seen them. We visit WDW 4-5 trips a year and rent a car always and I can't believe the rates that are being posted when checking. I have one trip that is only 3 weeks away and still the price is coming in at over $500 for a 10 day rental and it doesn't matter if I check National or Alamo.

Does anyone know for sure where this code (5063773) comes from? I do not see it on Mousesavers. Thanks.

5063773 appears to be another of the questionable, specifically targeted codes. According to a Google search, it is intended for travelers from Puerto Rico (as best I can tell, it's a little fuzzy). This is another that will probably work and certainly doesn't present the insurance issues of the "magic" codes, but you'll still have to make the decision whether to use it.

I too am cancelling my National rental with the controversial code, and I'm an EC member as well. Unfortunately, for our Sept. and Dec. trips we're switching to Alamo due to cost. We'll miss the fun of picking a car off the Emerald Aisle, and the free additional driver with EC membership. But with Alamo, we'll still book mid-size and can get the free add'l driver with our AARP membership. In the past, National has always been lower than Alamo for us, but that's changed now.
Times, they are a'changin' for sure!

Same with us. We will be cancelling the 67 code reservation we have and going with Alamo. They are cheaper than National for the first time in several years. We used Costco codes, only a little more expensive than the 67 code with National, but we're not willing to risk insurance issues.

here is a coupon code for $35 off. ND2119071Q
This great coupon is for 7 day rentals. It doesn't work for shorter stays, and since I am arriving on Sunday and leaving Thursday night the best I can do with National is the 2 car upgrade coupon NU2739JDU and 5026639.
If I go with Alamo I can use the $15 off AD4603JDW and 660401 on my 3 day midweek rental. These are paper coupons from BJ'S.
I'll be watching for last minute specials. We leave 8/24...

Mickey Maniac where did you see the code was for Puerto Rico travelers. I also tried the google search and did not see that info. I did see that it sometimes is used with an IATA from PRT travel but that is not Puerto Rico.

We also decided to cancel our ressie with the 67 code. We're considering using the 5063773 ID and the $35 off coupon. I'm also waiting to see if the rates come down if I book last minute.

That's why I said it was a little fuzzy. I remember reading a thread on the FT forums where someone indicated it was intended for travelers from PR. I also did a quick Google search for PRT Travel and found some questionable results. I'll let you look and decide for yourself here.

If it is in fact a valid code associated with PRT, does that mean it is intended for use by PRT's travel agents only?

I actually do hope it is valid for general use since it gives me the next best rate for National in place of the *7 codes.

I found the code here on these boards. The person that posted it said it was a carlson travel code. On my paperwork it said us travel agent discount rate.

I did a search on this code and it came us as a travel agent code. I may use it if my 57 code goes away.

Wasn't the 57/67 code a travel agent code also? Is this new code for a different agency only?

Before this thread goes much further....here's the thing people....
If you see a code, on an internet site, be very careful about using it. I would suggest you go to mousesavers and check out the codes that Mary has put out there. They are codes that have been shown to be usable by everyone. If you find a code here, on the DIS boards, that some unknown person has posted, it may, or may not, be applicable to you personally. There are way too many people out there posting codes that are not for the general public. If they were for the general public, they would be found out in the open, rather than having to search them out.
So, buyer beware. The great code you have heard about may not be so great in the end.

my next trip isn't until Oct...was able to use the code for end of June no problem:confused3 not about to change it for Oct unless my ressie reflects it when i check it weekly for rate differences:teacher:

i'll stand on my hand;) , thinking if most peeps fold, then less issue using it in Oct.

based on past exerience, my thoughts: once the TA codes filter down & are over-used, the auditors pick it up, yank the code (reassigning a new one to the TAs) and no further ressies can be booked...i've never read 1st hand account of them NOT being honored as long as the confirmation # still reflected the rate.
