Cancel & Re-Book? Nervous!

I called yesterday about getting the ticket upgrade with a Visa code.

She said she would have to cancel and refund all of my money, and then rebook under a new reservation.

That makes me nervous! Especially since it seems April is getting filled up. I have visions of my family suite being taken in that small time frame while it's cancelled!

Is there any risk to it? Is that really the only way they can add tickets to your reservation? Right now I have room only.

Thanks!:)

You would be changing from a room only to a package so yes they would have to cancel your first reservation and refund that money. You could book the package first just to make sure you get what you want then cancel your room only.

Have the CM rebook you first with a new deposit, then cancel your old ressie. Then you have your reservation and no worries before you cancel the old.

Your deposit for the first ressie will be returned to you within the same timeframe either way, seeing as how you will complete both transactions in the same phone call. When I did this a few weeks back, the CM told me it would take up to 2 billing cycles for the refund to show back on my Credit card for the cancelled reservation, but it was actually back within a few days.

I had to cancel, and re-book our Christmas ressies. DH was a wreck, so was I.
It worked out for us!:goodvibes Good luck!

Usually they will make the new reservation first. Then they cancel the room only.

I did exactly what your thinking about last week. The CM booked the Visa package first, then cancelled the old reservation. Same hotel, same type room. It was painless. If the room you want isn't available you can keep the old ressie.
