Well we bought in DVC and did research and were all good but then found some info on trading that hasnt made us happy. We mainly want to trade......so we are 3 days in and are going to cancel BUT we have already made reservations for 11 months out....will this be an issue?? Thanks

No, that won't be a problem. The reservation will cancel when you cancel your contract.

Sorry it didn't work out but it's good you discovered now that it isn't a good fit for you.

DVC is best used on Disney vacations. When we bought... my wife was impressed by the variety of places we could go... but I prefer doing Disney vacations.

Best of luck finding a Timeshare that works for you!

Not a problem at all. I believe that you simply have to put it in writing to them.

Contact your guide (or quality assurance--the number is in your paperwork) and ask what the procedure is.

I am glad that you found out now but sorry that DVC is not right for you.

Good luck!

It's very good that you are doing your research now. Although the ability to trade into other resorts is a benefit of DVC, it really works best for those who want to vacation at Disney. Call Member Administration ASAP and get everything cancelled. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear that DVC is not right for you, but it's good you discovered that now. When I first bought in, I was excited about the trading options but soon discovered (too late) that it wasn't the best use of my membership. I originally planned to only go to Disney every 2-3 years and figured with banking and borrowing, we'd have a great vacation during those years.

I have a 5-year-old son, so I discovered that going to WDW every year or even more than once a year is a nice way to use my membership. The resorts are vacations within themselves and on our last trip, we had 4 days where we did not go to any of the parks. I look forward to when my son gets a little older and is able to do so much more -- water sports, etc. -- so that we can expand our Disney experience even further.

I wish you the best of luck. If you primarily wanted to trade out, another timeshare may work better for you. There are many members on this board who own other timeshares. Perhaps someone could give you a little insight into how they may work for you.
