Oops, sorry. I got derailed LOL This thread really IS about travel.deleted - I just came to this thread for the titled topic of travelling. I have no interest in the topic of Canadian media bashing. Certainly ironic in essentially a media forum.
PEI gets lots of visitors from the USA every year. Where we go camping they always have caravans of Americans arrive in their motorhomes.
I heard a lot of this during the pandemic. World's a very big place.
obviously you missed the point where I said my cousin's bed and breakfast has never been full until July. That's a big issue in PEI...they've been trying for years to increase the business during the shoulder season.
what is it about this thread that people go out of their way to dispute everything that "the other side" posts. I don't really think that your experience from past years in whatever province you live in whenever you happened to be camping is evidence that my cousin is lying about the fact that being full in June in PEI is unexpected.
Enjoy. I won't spoil some rides but there were times were I was like, what....this is not what this ride is supposed to be like. And this is why we've decided on Disney Paris...and Paris. Yes we've loved Disney World but life is short....too short to just keep going to the same place every year. There is so much of the world that my family hasn't seen yet, and I'm willing to bet Adventures by Disney has increasing sales to other parts of the world
We crossed the border two weeks ago to go to Frankenmuth, Michigan. The border guard could not have been nicerHas anyone had a difficult time crossing the border either driving or flying? I think it depends on what side of the bed the border agent got up on! I’ve heard of someone being asked what they thought of Trump, going thru his phone etc. got 5 yr travel ban.
If someone is getting a 5-year travel ban, there is likely a very good reason for it. Could be something minor to us, but cross-border travel has very strict rules.Has anyone had a difficult time crossing the border either driving or flying? It makes no business sense at all, unless they are prepared to build it indoors like in Abu Dhabi. Why won't Disney build a theme park in Canada? It may not have made business sense in the past, but it could from here on out. WDW is practically the only reason I go to the US. I bet more international visitors will opt to come to Canada park too...
Some provinces like BC (e.g. Kelowna) has moderate climate even for winter. It makes no business sense at all, unless they are prepared to build it indoors like in Abu Dhabi.
Setting aside the average annual precipitation of Vancouver vs Paris, the climates are not too dissimilar. That said, Paris has proximity to a large population in Europe to draw crowds from even during the winter. With parks in CA and FL, during the winters there would likely be insufficient demand with other warmer options. It's not a climate thing. Some provinces like BC (e.g. Kelowna) has moderate climate even for winter.
Just the cost of travel to and within Canada is probably a huge deterrent. I can fly to Florida for less than I can fly to Calgary and when I lived in Northern BC just getting to Vancouver could cost 500+ per person round trip. Flying to the US is way cheaper. Why won't Disney build a theme park in Canada? It may not have made business sense in the past, but it could from here on out. I know right! It's cheaper for my family of 6 from SK, to go to the US than anywhere in Canada by air. We cancelled our US trip for this year and are travelling local - Montreal and Vancouver - but I miss the parks.Just the cost of travel to and within Canada is probably a huge deterrent.
