Hi Again:

DH just came home and said he talked to one of his customers who went on a 3 day last year. He said that Canadians have to get up at 5AM to report to immigration. Is this also true for the Western? Which port is this at?

Thanks

Non-Americans have to report early at Port Canaveral on all itineraries. All cruisers have to report early at St Thomas on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. There are no other early-report days.

Wendy,
I heard it was really early, something like 6:30 a.m. I can't imagine waking the kids at that hour. They are going to be in a bad mood for the day. Oh well, maybe they will sleep on the way to the airport.
When are you going Wendy?

Wendy,

I am Canadian. We just got back from a 3-day stay at Disney and a 4-day cruise on the Wonder a month ago and had to report to immigration at 5:45 on the last day. That was VERY EARLY. However, it went very well (it took about half an hour), so we were able to go back to bed and get some more sleep before our assigned time for breakfast.

Hope this helps!

We are going March1/03. Did you guys bring the kids in their PJ's? I think I just might do that.

Wendy,

We will be cruising the Western Carribeans on March 1st, 2003 too! :D

I will be cruising with my husband, my son (who will be 10 by then) and my niece (who will be 16).

I guess you could always bring your kids in their PJ's, especially given that you will have plenty of time to go back to your room after reporting to immigration.

Hope to see you on the Magic :)

Oh my Meghan! If you can manage getting a 16 year old out of bed and IN PUBLIC in her pj's I want to hear that story!

Deb,

You are too funny! :jester:

I wouldn't dream of bringing my son nor my niece to immigration in their pj's!

I was simply answering Wendy's question, who was asking if she could bring her children in their pj's (I don't know how old they are, but I assume that they are much younger than the kids in my party) ;)

My DS is 16 and went to immigration in his pj's. I was trying to find a pair with cowboys on them, but couldn't :)

I could possibly see my son doing this - he wears the semi-lounge clothes version anyway but NEVER DD! You're good!

I got back two weeks ago. As I had cruised before, I knew it would be early. A note was put under my door and I was told to report to Wavebands at 6am. I got there a few minutes early and they had already started.

This was a VERY smooth process under three conditions - you bring all members of your party who are not US citizens, you have your paperwork (customs form) filled in (and correctly), and you are not grumpy. I was fourth in line and all three people in front of me fit these descriptions. The customs agent was very patient though.
