I listened to Mr. Mulroony's eulogy of President Reagan and his comments and demeanor where quite impressive. Did you like him as a Prime Minister? What has changed since he left power?

Malrooney is very well spoken. But his party are in the right wing of Canadian politics and by the time he was defeated he was not very well liked. (As I understand it...)

He is the butt of many jokes here about politics, or at least he was for years after he was defeated.

No, I'm not a fan of Brian Mulroney, but then I (and my plants), tend to lean to the left.

 :flower3:

Nope, I did not like him...but when you bring it up, and given the long thread about Clinton not being invited to speak at Reagan's funeral, you might find this interesting.

One of Mulrooney's ministers was Lucien Bouchard, who subsequently left the Conservative party to become a staunch separatist, and attempted to lead Quebec out of Canada to become a separate country. He came close to success too....Bouchard was an extremely gifted speaker. one who could easily lead people.

Mulrooney never forgot the betrayal. He had it put in his will that if Bouchard ever attempted to show up at his ( Mulrooney's) funeral, the proceedings were to be stopped immediately while Bouchard was escorted out.
