What time do we have to be up to disembark the Magic? I seem to remember having to clear customs in one of the lounges at some ungodly hour? Can we go back to the cabin after this?
Are there any other inconveniences we have to face? On the islands maybe?

We had to report at 6AM with the kids in pj's at Port Can. at the end of our Western cruise.

We have to be up at some awful time of like 5:30 or 6:00 to clear customs in the morning. It is usually in Wavebands on the Wonder but it would probably be in the Rockin D on Magic.
I have only been on the Wonder and experienced no other differences because of nationality other than disembarkation morning and having to give up your passports when you board.
I am not sure at the reasoning behind that rule, if anyone knows let me know.
And yes you can go back to your cabin after you go thru customs.

By the way disneykins, I am from Chatham!

Hey I don't understand. I am also from Canada. I did not realize that we had to clear customs on the cruise. Why?
I am going on the 4-day Wonder next March and I would be going from Toronto. Can anyone tell me if there is anything I have to do on the cruise for Customs?

When you check in at the terminal there is a special desk for non American citizens, that is where you go to check in, unless you are a Castaway Club Member and then you can go to that desk.
When you check in they will take your passport or other ID away from you and give you a receipt for them. I am not sure why they have to do this but they do it.
Then for the rest of the trip you can come and go just with your Key to the World card, and a picture ID such as your drivers license or maybe health card with a picture on it.
On the morning of disembarkation you are required to report to the designated spot on the ship to clear customs, you have to bring your receipt for your passports with you then. Your passports are returned to you and you then have to report to the customs officer who asks you a few questions, (when do you plan on leaving the country etc.) After you are free to go back to your cabin and carry on with your day. I think maybe you have to fill out a form that is in your cabin and take it with you.
I don't know why just non-Americans have to do this because you are entering the US but American citizens have also left the country and are returning too?
This is quite long but i hope it helps, more questions just ask

Thanks Robin for your clear message.

I really did not know until now that we will have to get up so early in the morning on the disembarkation day.

A bit disappointed but the rule has to be followed.

:( :( :(

yeah, it's the pits but maybe we will all be up early enough to see the sun rise.
Got to be some benefits to it somewhere!!
