We are Americans living in Canada and going on the DCL Alaska cruise in August. Is Canadian currency okay for tipping, or should we make sure we have US cash?

As the ship does port in Vancouver, there will be the opportunity for those people onboard that you tip to use the Canadian currency there. However, a majority of the ports are US, so, if you are thinking about tipping in port, US currency would be best.

Many of the tippable positions onboard send the money home (via bank accounts, or transfers).

Money is money but preference is for a major currency so tip in USA $ only, - the exception is only in Europe where the euro use is prolific.

The Wonder has a short and busy turn around day and tipable positions will not get off the ship.
