CANADIAN DECEMBER PHOTOPASS SHARE

We are now closed and have met capacity!

Welcome! I would like to start up a Photopass Share just for December.

I confess, I have not been to Disney World (YET!) or have used the Photopass, but I have read a lot about it and have asked many questions to some very helpful people!

Basically how this works is that I will pre-order the photopass. The cost on this is about 100 USD. We will save $25 just by pre ordering.
After your trip you will just send me your PhotoPass numbers. I will upload everyones numbers and get the master CD delivered here to me. Then I will burn the cd(s) along with printing out the Copyright agreement (which you might need when you go to print out the pictures) and I will mail you the disc. Only I, alone, will have your names and mailing address.

Say if there are 4 of us on the list, we only have to pay about $30 (a little extra depending on the USD-CAD rate, cost of burning discs and postage which will just be letter mail) I do have PayPal (addicted to eBay shopping!) or you can send me a cheque or money order. I can give you my home address.

You will have to be comfortable with others on our list seeing your pictures. There could be 300+ pictures per family and would be too time consuming to sift through and organize them.

Once we get 3 or more people signed up, I will go ahead and pre order the cd. I will let you know in advance that I will be doing this. I do ask that I receive payment as soon as possible after pre ordering. Which will depend on how soon we 'book up' I only ask of this because any extra money to us is DW money. SO this will be cutting into that money.

(If you have never seen what the photopass digital masters can do, just go to that last link and there are examples. Really great!! I had no idea!)

Lastly, I just wanted to say that I am doing this because we are avid picture takers ourselves. The flaw in this is that we never have family pictures. I wouldn't want to dish out $100 alone for these pictures. But I do want them just to have them. So in sharing the userID and cost, we are all able to afford it and get these great pictures! All part of the Disney Magic.

Sounds great! I am in Dieppe. You from NB?? No, we decided that mmvcp is a little too much for our 3 and 4 yr old (turning those ages while there). 2010 we will do it! lol I hear DW is like a drug, so I fully expect that we will be going again in 2 years for Christmas again. I LOVE Christmas time, and DW... I wanna squeal just thinking about it!!!!!!

Oh that is awesome! I lived in Fredericton for a while after highschool, then I lived in Vancouver for a year, and back HOME. I was born in Moncton, grew up in Riverview.

I noticed that you went down in Aug. I always wondered if I would be able to handle the heat. I hate the heat. lol Sounds like I best not go down any time in summer.

if ya like 25c at 6:00am and 37+ at 1:00pm than go ahead. as for me NEVER AGAIN>

when we go down its just perfect. during the day mid 20's at night can get low teens. the first year we went one night it fell to 8c. we were wearing shorts and sweater and the CM"S had toques and gloves.

Sure! I think that will be fine. The only thing I will have to request is if you want to edit any of them at all, it would have to be done soon after you get home so we can get the discs. If you know what I mean. I have 30 days from when it starts to when it 'ends' (to the last day I can upload to that user ID). We are fine within then, but Im sure we will all want our pictures as soon as we can.




I think how it works is that I will upload the pics. Once I have done that I can email you and let you know that you can start to edit. If anybody has any troubles with this just let me know.

Thought I would bump us up, see if we can nab abother.
I was thinking of pre ordering early November? Does that sound alright? I will just use my cc and I will let you know when and where you can mail me your share of the money. Again, I do have PayPal if that is easiest for you, or can do an email transfer from the bank (dh has done these before, I haven't.)
Honestly, whatever works best for everybody else.

lol Yeah I never even thought of that being an option. We are all in the same province! lol!
I am headed to Fredericton in Nov as well. So either or is great! Or Paypal... whatever is easier really. lol

Hopefully we get another person. Even as 3, will only be about...$40 a piece. Darn CAD keeps slipping. I will just add $2 to whatever for shipping. It won't cost much lettermail.
If a 4th joins us it goes to $31 a piece including the extra $2.

Yeah this is true. I guess there really isn't a rush. Just as long as I get the money before I leave.

Darn dollar. UGH! It was so strong this summer. I hope It will stay the same at the very least until next week when I can pay off DW. Then I have to purchase the DLX DP. So.... BAH... What makes the dollar do this anyway? Is it simply the economy situation? NOt that there is anything simple about it.

Hi guys, i had a question. We want to get a cpl balloons are release them into the sky with notes from the kids. As though we are sending a letter to both of their great grandfathers. One of which they knew. I figure with a 8am res for Crystal Palace that we might be out a few mins before the crowd comes in at 9. Do you think I can purchase the balloons at this time, and do you think there will be a photographer in the area of the Castle to get some pictures? Are they there early?

I would like to join if there's still a spot. We will be going down Dec 15-26 with the grandparents aswell. So a CD would be great. We did one this summer to get some really nice family photos done at the beachclub. Turned out great and total cost is only $125.00. (the $99 for the CD prepaid and the $25 sitting fee). We even got a free photomug for being DVC members.

In case you wanted to book a sitting, you just show the proof of prepaid cd email at the time you check in at the photo desk. The first sitting is discounted at $25 and any other sittings you want at other resorts will be $50. There's a thread about the photo sessions here on DIS that was really helpful.

I can mail you a cheque or money order, what ever works best for you. Don't you get charged a fee for using paypal? Just wondering.

We weren't going to do another cd so soon after going down this summer, but we really liked getting those family shots. Also got some great shots at the waterparks since we don't usually take our camera with us. The photographers are really good about spending time with you when they find out you have paid for a cd.

We are planning on driving down this time, I read your posts honeystar on flying out of Portland. I may have to check out some flights now! Great prices. I'm waiting for a DING from SW. We have done the Manchester thing and it worked out great. Gotta do the direct flights! With five of us it is tough to get the math to work out in our favour with flights. We don't mind the drive and we are lucky to have lots of time off.

No, I don't believe their is a PayPal fee, but if there is (since I really can't remember) it wouldn't be a whole heck of a lot on $30 or so. Not too worried about it. Whatever works best for all of you.

Good tip. I haven't been down ever...so Im new to everything, just trying to educate myself in as much as I can. Do I just flag a photographer down and they will take our picture? Im trying to understand how it fully works. I mean, obviously in hot spots such as the castle. But Im just wondering if they are pretty spreadout and easy to reach. I didn't want to spend the full amount on something I didn't have a clue if I would really use it. Of course, we will if it's prepaid and much less than $100

We are in NB so it's a 7 hours drive. 4 of us at $750 even (then the extra charge for pre picking our seats). The cost to drive from here down costs more than to drive to Portland and stay 1 night each way and gas on top of that. I did get the tickets months ago when they were cheap, but worth checking into. The airline is Air Tran. If your heart is set on a non stop, i wouldn't book with them. They are very good at rearranging your flights. They have with us already once. I used it to our benefit and was able to pick whatever flights we wanted, then pushed them back a week with no extra fees.

I checked it out, out of portland for 5 seats, cheapest, comes to $1, 242.50. Which doesn't seem too bad for 5. However, that is in USD which matters as of lately. If you did a rough exchange rate... ( www.xe.com ) 1,242.50 USD = 1,462.81 CAD I'm not too sure where you are driving from, or the costs you will have. But it is interesting to compare driving costs with flying costs. With us too, dh can only get a week off at a time. So that mattered as well. (even though if it was worth it, we were prepared to ask to see if he could take 2...but it never came to that)

When I title this Are we full??? I was referring to having 4 people signed up for out PhotoShare. However, after all the turkey I ate today... I only have turkey on the brain.

So if everybody is happy with stopping with the 4 of us I will deem us booked for our PhotoPass Share.

I have been told that after 4-5 members it can really slow the website down due to all the photos. With it being Christmas season and all, Im sure we are going to use this PhotoPass to the best of our abilities and get our money's worth! So 4 people should be plenty.

As for payment, I am definitely going to be pre paying some time soon. I have to pay off DW the end of next weekend, and the pay after that I can do the PhotoPass. So... Say... grabbing the calendar here...pay is on Oct 31st. So within that week as it takes a cpl days for the $$ to get on the credit card.

Total cost for all 4 of us will be...(100.00 USD = 117.657 CAD / 4= 29.5+ shipping and dvd) $33 each If you want to pay before Oct 31st, that is fine, or you can pay after I make the payment. Whatever you feel comfortable with. Just PM with how you would like to send me the money and I will give you whatever information you need.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! In Laws tomorrow for yet more food. Losing 10lbs before DW to gain 10lbs in DW just isn't working out for me.
