Canadian Buffoon's Back to Front Vacation - Update! 05/18 - Falling Down

I really enjoyed your adventures and how fun to meet so many Dis members!

If you ever pass through Duluth again, let me know and we can have a meet! I would not recommend this time of year, lol! Our weather has been awful over the last 2 weeks.

I will be on the May trip so we maybe able to say Hi then:wave2:

Thanks for the fun read!

I will stay tuned for more of your adventures!

Thanks, Caroline!
Meeting fellow DISers,
is often the best part
(and sometimes the
only part) of my travels. :)

Okay! That's a deal. :goodvibes

Probably not too different
from ours, although
with the lake effect,
I'm guessing you had
more snow.

Oh, great!
I'll be posting a brief
schedule of where I'll be, when,
very soon. :)

Thanks for the fun read!

You're very welcome!
Glad you enjoyed it
and are enjoying it
so far! :)

I will stay tuned for more of your adventures!

Coming up!
Next update's photos
are all loaded and I've
started writing it already. :)

And look what I found after
a quick Google search
for Chalet glass...

Different colours, but same shape.
The blue one was valued at
$40-$50.

Thanks Doc!
You are most welcome. Because one of my hobbies is numismatics, I've gotten pretty good at reading worn or unclear writing (happens a lot). Happy to help.

I'm finally caught up! I guess that means you're getting ready to post another update?

I'm not going to multi quote for now but will after the next update. I've really enjoyed reading about the great people you'be met, the things your done and the delicious food. You made me really tired when you totaled up your driving. I'm really sorry you had vertigo on the drive back. Good thing it passed fast. I've had "dizzy spells" since I was young. It really helps to keep your ears clear.

I'm looking forward to more great stories.

Interesting hobby,
although I already knew...
How did you get into that?

As a matter of fact...
I do have one in the works.
Photos are all loaded
and I've written the first
little bit.

Hoping in another day or two.

Or three.

I'm not going to multi quote for now but will after the next update.

Okay, that's a deal.
I expect huge, massive
amounts of multi-quotes.
Pages and pages worth.

;)

It was great meeting
so many wonderful
people!

You made me really tired when you totaled up your driving.

Aw, you poor thing.
Maybe go lie down for a bit.
I'll drive over and tuck you in.
It's only 1,500 miles or so.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that.
It was my first (and I hope only)
time experiencing that.

I'm looking forward to more great stories.

Thanks Vanessa! :goodvibes

How am I doing so far?

Thanks! :)

I've enjoyed the few Dismeets I've had over the years.

Any excuse to take a nap.

I hope it's your last.

Thanks Vanessa! :goodvibes

I can't say I remember a specific time or event that was the beginning. My great aunt and uncle had given me a few, my grandma gave me a few, my dad gave me a few, I found some in change. I honestly don't recall which happened first. Pretty sure it was the chicken.

I think a lot more happened about 20 years ago when I got out of the military and could actually AFFORD to actively look/find/purchase items of interest.

That's how it starts all right.
I started with the CDN bird penny.

I had about... 20-30?
Long time ago.
I stopped collecting when
I found out they were
worth... about a penny.

::yes::
Money helps with getting stuff.

A long time ago the US 1967 penny was worth a penny also. :lmao: The thing is keeping them in good condition long enough for them to be old enough and/or other good condition specimens to become rare and then they become valuable.

I have some older Canadian coins that are worth more than face value. I have an 18xx? Cent and even though it's not in the best shape, it's still worth over $20.

I absolutely love reading your trip reports. You have me lol-ing (l-ing-ol? Whatever) a lot. And I did see it in the last chapter! I'm not terrific at spotting things but have a couple times during this TR! Can't wait to read more of your travels.

Really! Huh.
I know I used to have
a few of those.
Maybe Kay has them.
I gave what I had to her.
Should ask.

I absolutely love reading your trip reports.

Why thank you!! :goodvibes

And :welcome: to the TR! :)

You have me lol-ing (l-ing-ol? Whatever) a lot.

This made me stop and think...
(A rare event , and seldom
profitable.)

Lol = laugh out loud
Lol-ing = laugh out louding
L-ing-ol = laughing out loud

But “I was l-ing-ol.”
looks wrong.

My head hurts! Lol.
Although that’s usually
not a l-ing-ol matter.

And I did see it in the last chapter! I'm not terrific at spotting things but have a couple times during this TR!

::yes::
Some are easy,
some are hard,
some are sneaky.

;)

Can't wait to read more of your travels.

More coming soon! :)
