Can you verify Teppanyaki kids menu?

allears lists only 2 kids choices, but has not been updated since 5/05. They are both kids versions of the adult menu. Problem is DS6 will not eat:salad, veggies, rice, meat, chicken, seafood...um the entire menu! :confused3 The rest of us really want to eat here though. Has anyone else experienced any other kid's alternatives? Thanks.

You may want to call them (407) 560-7292 and see if they have any other alternatives. I know when we went (6/30/06), it was pretty much the adult meals but smaller portion.

Hope this helps

Yep we just ate there last week and it was basically a smaller version of the adult chicken meal - same veggies- or chicken with frozen carrots, peas and corn cooked the same way. And white rice all around. my kids loved it.(and so did I)

Thanks, I guess that pretty much confirms things. Ugh, the rest of us really wanted to go, but how can I let DS eat NOTHING? :sad2: (except dessert of course...)

Have your DS eat at a CS place before you go.

Call and see if you can bring something in with you, like the counter service.

I gotta ask, sorry  No meat, seafood, chicken, rice or veggies. What does your son eat? Maybe that would help someone figure out what to suggest.

My cousins son just graduated high school this year and has never eaten anything but biscuits/rolls with ketchup on them. That's it!!!

He is shorter than I am but otherwise healthy. ;)

I was thinking the same thing cause that sorta rules out everything but pasta. Or like MosMom said, maybe just bread. Well, that's assuming that no meat includes hamburgers and hot dogs and the no chicken means no chicken nuggets.

Good luck. I'd feed him before your meal if possible then you can all go and enjoy it.

My DDs don't like the chicken or shrimp options, but do like steak. On request, they WILL do child-size portions of steak at Teppanyaki.

I'm glad to hear about the steak option. Our family would also like to eat there, but ds (7) is picky! When we eat at our local Japanese restaurant he always gets the tempura chicken. He does not do grilled chicken or shrimp, but he will sometimes eat steak.

I was wondering if anyone had ever gotten tempura there? I know it's not on the menu, but sometimes restaurants share a kitchen. I was wondering if that's the case here, and if anyone has ever gotten anything that's not on the menu?

Please don't flame me but I wouldn't in a million years let a 6 year old child's picky eating habits decide where I was going to eat......where in the parenting handbook does it say you can't go and let him watch the rest of the group enjoy their meal?
If you're positive he'll fuss then pre-feed him or let him watch and be entertained by the cooking process and feed him something else later.

.

We'll be going to this restraunt with a picky DD7. Planning to give her a small snack of fruit-crackers in the room before we go, and planning to encourage her to try something new while there. DD7 probably won't eat a very much here and will end up with a bowl of cereal before bed, but she needs to be exposed to new foods. Its free dining. We are going to enjoy.

No flames from me. I agree that you should enjoy your meal and DS will have to learn that his picky habits make it inconvenient for him, not you. Besides, Teppanyaki puts on a fun show and I doubt he will die of boredom. They give a fun menu with puzzles that he can complete while you all eat.

That is pretty unbelieveable. Both that this is all an 18 year old has eaten his whole life and that he is healthy. He would certainly have major vitamin deficiencies, protein deficiencies and scurvy, to say the least. If you believe this, someone has been pulling your leg.

Heh, he lives in the same town I do and that is all he eats. I've seen him at family functions put ketchup on a roll and eat it. A bunch of his friends gave him ketchup as a joke for a graduation gift. I assure you, it is true....and he is 17.

I'm sure he probably takes vitamins but like I said, he is very short...especially compared to the rest of his family. His sister who will graduate next year is much taller than he is.

Tomatoes actually have vitamin C... so we can stop worrying about the scurvy. I can't say the same for what the fat, refined sugars, lack of protein and lack of whole grains have done to him, but even you can see his lack of height. It's a shame that his health wasn't put first. I hope he's able reverse some of that as an adult.

My 7 y/o DD is also picky but it doesn't stop us from going to any restaurant. We stop and let her eat a counter service meal and then we proceed to the restaurant. At the restaurant she gets to eat a nice dessert while we are enjoying our dinner. This is the only way we'd ever be able to eat at San Angel Inn or Rose and Crown~!

Okay, no meat or chicken in "pure" form. He eats hamburgers, hot dogs, bologna, chicken nuggets/strips/patties, sausage, pasta, pb and J,, grilled cheese, fruit. I agree that it is ridiculous.... :confused3

Umm, it's a "family" vacation and I am trying to accommodate everyone's eating habits. The children are not ruling the dining choices (we have NO character meals BTW), but with all the recent posts about "no sharing" and "everyone in the party must use their dining credit" I am reluctant to go and not order for him. I would hate to be accused of starving him so that I could use his credit for an adult meal. :rotfl2: Really though, what would I do with his lone credit later?

And, no flames, but I have read many posts about children and family choices where I think "you have GOT to be kidding" but I force myself to bite my tongue (in this case fingers...). I feel it is dangerous to criticize someone's parenting in the real world and that should hold true here...especially when the post is on another topic. :grouphug:
