Can you use Fast Passes the day after you get them?

In a few weeks I am taking my two kids by myself to the World. DH will be coming down 4 days later to stay for the last 3 days. My kids are DD10 and DS2. My 2 year old is not big enough to ride the big rides and my 10 year old is not old enough to go off to ride rides on her own. So, we will have to skip all the big rides until DH gets there and even then we will have to baby-swap if both myself and DH want to ride them.

I saw somewhere that the rules are a little fuzzy on the fastpasses and that maybe we could use a fast pass the day after we get it. So here's what I am thinking...

What if while I am alone with the kids we get fast passes for each of the big rides. (Only one set per big ride, I don't want to abuse the system, just fine tune it!) Then a few days later when DH gets there we will still have to baby-swap but, we won't spend the entire time waiting on each other to get off of rides. And in many cases, I just opt for DD and DH to ride and I skip the rides so that we have more time all together.

So, what do you think? Will they allow this? Should I try it?

TIA
Jana

Nope -- don't try it. They WILL, absolutely, let you use a Fast Pass on the day it was issued, but AFTER the time period is up (so, for example, if the time range on the pass is 10:30 to 11:30, you can use it that same day anytime after 10:30 -- right up until the park closes). We just returned yesterday (12/10) from an 8-day trip and witnessed people trying to use passes from previous days on things like Soarin' and other "big rides" and they were turned away. We, however, DID use passes on Soarin' from the same day but after the "time limit" and had no problem. You may get other responses from people here who will tell you that they HAVE done it your way successfully -- I am just telling you that we saw people turned away who were trying to do this....

No. They are dated and have specific times to come back. Unless the CM's don't look at it, but in my experience they always have. Sorry! ;)

I thinkj they may be color coded for each day as well.

So, it sounds like the best idea would be to make a bee-line to the big rides first thing on the morning of the day that DH will arrive. That way we can use those fast passes after he arrives on the same day.

chrome64: Yes, that should work fine -- get fast passes early on the day you plan to use them. Have a great trip!

Actually they SHOULD color code them daily but they do not. In fact, I know someone (whom I know but am not close enough to to say something about this to them) who keeps FP's that they do not use (and intentionally pick them up even if they dont plan on riding) and they have many many many (and I mean likely 20-30) FP's at any time from previous trips and they use them regularly.

If they color-coded them this could easily be avoided.

While they "do" check the dates sometimes, if you go in with a group of people at any time they dont check anything, even time sometimes.

I've done it in the past....can you do it...maybe...will it work...maybe...should you try it...maybe....Was that helpful??

I dont think you "should" try it. Just because you can get away with something doesn't mean you should. Doing that sort of defeats the entire reasoning for FP and only makes the lines longer for those who legitimately use it.

We DID use fastpasses the following day for splash mountain this past summer. The CM handed the fastpass back to me and said it wasn't time to use them yet. I explained to her that it was from the day before and we had gotten rained out. She looked at all the fastpasses again for the dates (there was 4 of us) and motioned for us to go ahead and ride.

We have used fastpasses after the time but on the same day. I have gotten extra fastpasses that we didn't use but I kept for my scrapbook.

Same here. I have found that I couldn't use one I had and didn't get a chance to give it away and kepth them for my scrapbook.

yes you can use them the next day. you are not suppose to but at the bottom of the fast pass is the date. do you think the cast members look at the little date when they probaly get 1000 a day.

Many CM do look at the dates. Also 1000 a day is actually far too low.

Honestly I do see them look at the time but RARELY EVER do I see them look at the date as to do so, they would have to look very closely since it is so small and often printed very lightly.

I had no idea you could use the fast pass after the time alloted. I thought if it wasi 10:00-11:00, after 11:00 they were no good anymore. This is really good to know. I do not think it is the right thing to do, however, to use the FP from the day before. That is not fair to the people who are doing it the correct way.

Yeah come to think of it your right. Most of the time they only check the time. I guess if you wanted to it wouldn't be hard to get away with using an old FP. However I wouldn't do it myself.

Well, technically the FP is only good for the time stated on the ticket. However rarely will a CM stop you from using a FP after its time slot. Most people use their FP as soon as they can, so there is only a small amount that wants to use them after the time slot.

Maybe I can be a Fastpass Fairy!

We won't be able to ride the big rides before DH arrives but, maybe I could get the fast passes and then go on a quest to find people who are maybe not having a good day and we can give them the fast passes to use on that same day!

I always love the little "Magical" things that seem to always happen in Disney World. This would be my own little way to create some "Magic" for someone else!

Great idea! We've found ourselves with FPs we couldn't use and the look on folks' faces when we hand them off is truly Magical! :wizard:
