Can you use DDP and DDE at the same table?

We're planning a big family trip next year. My sister's family will probably get the DDP, but our family might opt for DDE instead. We plan to eat a lot of sit-down meals together...can we dine at the same table and still use the DDE discount on our meals while they use the DDP for their meals? Thanks!!

For the most part I'd say yes. I have the DDE and have dined with people who were on the DDP and had no problems using my DDE. I've even been on the DDP and used my DDE card for extras (sides and alcohol). The only place I've ever had trouble was San Angel Inn Sept '05. I don't like that restaurant, but my D-I-L wanted to try it. No way was I going to waste a TS credit there, so I was just going to order their cheese fundido appetizer as my meal and pay for it OOP using my DDE card. They wouldn't let me. We had a manager called and was told that they accept only one discount per table and that both the DDE and DDP were considered discounts. We said fine, I'd just share my D-I-L meal and to forget the fundido. However, this is the only time I've ever had a problem using the DDE while dining with someone on the DDP.

I dont see why not. Just tell your server that its 2 seperate checks. Tell them that you have the DDE card and your sisters family is on the DDP.

Yes, just be aware they charge an automatic 18% tip on everything that is put on a separate check for DDE.

I have done this several times, especially with friends (or relatives) from out of town who had DDP. I would be on a separate check, along with others who might not have been on DDP and also alcoholic beverages for those on DDP. There was never any problem.

An automatic tip/service charge of 18% will be charged for parties of 6 or more (2008). It doesn't matter if you ask for seperate checks, an 18% service charge will added to your DDP check.

BOTH CHECKS.

A change for 2008; an automatic 18% service charge/gratuity will be added to the undiscounted total of all DDE checks.

The same 18% service charge will be added for all parties of 6 or more (DDP or cash) even if seperate checks are issued.
