Can you upgrade?

My DDDDDBIL (LOL) just surprised us with a week in an Old Key West Studio in Jan. So nice! Our question is, is it possible to upgrade to a one-bedroom at the desk of the room was booked with points?

We would obviously never ask him for the difference and will be happy with what we get, but the extra room and privacy with DD is very nice. Is this doable?

You could ask your BIL if you could rent the point difference from him. If he doesn't have the points, you or he could work with a renter(I have the points, if you need them). You can't do this at the front desk, though, if the studio was rented on points, since you are asking to pay a combination of cash and points. If your BIL paid cash for the room, you could change the ressies to a one bedroom for cash, but I wouldn't do anything at the front desk. Even in January, these things work out better when planned.

Or you could do 4-5 days in a 1 BR and pay cash for the other days linking the reservations. That will be your cheapest option if you make the weekends days the ones on cash.
