We have already bought 3 day park hopper but have added some days to our trip since we have decided to fly. Can you upgrade your passes? Just curious!? Thanks for your help! Doing the 30 day dance!:cool1: :cool1:

yes, you can do this at any of the ticket windows just outside the entrances. last week we upgraded my DD's 5 day hopper to an AP on the last day of her pass. Her AP then became effective as of the 1st day she used her 5 day hopper, in other words, it expires next year on the date that she first used the 5 day hopper.

It was very easy and only took a few minutes.

How did they charge you to do this, and is there a difference if the park hopper has not been used yet? I have a 4-day that has not been used, but was considering purchasing an AP if there are resort discounts released for our dates of stay.

1) Upgrade any pass to a higher pass.
2) Upgrade at Guest Services
3) Upgrade within 7-days of FIRST use.

If the passes have not been used, they'll simply subtract the full value of the unused pass from the value of the pass you want to purchase.

If I upgrade a UPH to an AP before I use it, am I limited to the AP features only? In other words, do I lose the Disney Quest and water parks feature of the UPH? I don't need a PAP, so it's not worth the extra $$ to me.

If your UPH is purchased as part of a package such as Dream Maker, you cannot upgrade it at all.

If it is purchased at check in or added to a room-only reservation, you can upgrade it. Yes, you will lose the DQ and WP entrances. If you have already used the UPH for admission to either of those venues before upgrading, you will be required to upgrade to a PAP. It works exactly the same as upgrading a PHP ticket when you've used any plusses before upgrading.

If you have not used the plus features you will loose them BUT you will only be paying the difference between what you paid already and the AP rate or you can get the AP that includes extras

Also worthy to note:

1. If you purchased your current passes from anyone other than Disney you will probably not get the entire amount you paid credited toward a new pass. Disney sells passes at wholesale prices to vendors like Ticketmania and Florida Orlando Tickets. These third-party vendors then add a small amount (10-15%) which represents their profit on the transaction.

When you trade in a pass, Disney can tell the exact wholesale price at which it was originally sold, and that is the amount with which you are credited.

2. Also note that when trading-up you must pay the "Gate" price for your new pass. You do not get the advance purchase price. Not a big deal if you're upgrading to an AP, but you'll "lose" another $20-30 per pass over the advance pricing.

If you have bought these tickets through anyone but Disney, and Disney doesn't offer 3 day hoppers, it is unlikely that you will get full value from them. If they were discounted tickets bought at group rates, they cannot be upgraded at all.

You will be better off just buying additional tickets.
