Can you transfer Palo reservations?

My parents are paying for our entire family to go on our Alaskan cruise this June (it's my parents, my family and my DS's family). I was trying to think of a way to treat them to something nice as a thank you and thought about trying to get them a Palo reservation....Can I book it under my name, pay for it and then have them go? There aren't any reservations open right now, but I thought I would just keep checking.... I know my mom would think it's silly to pay for food when there is so much FREE food, but I really want to try to think of a way to let them know how much this trip means to us.

Any other suggestions as a way to say thanks?

Palo doesn't card people at the entrance to verify their identity so you could book it in your name (and the name of another adult in your party) and your parents can go in your place. If your reservations are linked and you book it in their names, they will see it when they receive their cruise booklet. The issue is you want to pay for it. The Palo meals are usually charged to the KTTW card presented at the meal. Go to Palo after you board and talk to them about how to handle the payment. I'm not sure if they can accept prepayment for the meal then, or if they will want you to come back during the time your parents are enjoying their meal to give your KTTW card at that point. Also, when you talk with Palo about the payment, they can likely switch the reservations into your parents' names.

As for other suggestions for ways to say thanks, maybe order a bottle of wine or champagne ahead of time from the "In Room Gifts and Amenities" to be delivered to your parents' stateroom. I believe they also have a plate of chocolate covered strawberries that can be ordered from there as well.

I would have given the same advice as Maggie's Mom about Palo.

Do your parents enjoy spa treatments? If so, perhaps a couples massage.

Photos are an obvious choice, but the ship does offer a photo album. You choose the photos you want and they send the book to your house after the cruise.
