Can you tell me about February.

We may have to postpone our December trip due to a family illness. So I'm looking at February. It would either be early Feb. or late.

Any one tell me how crowds are, weather, etc. during that time-frame?
I know to stay away close to President's Day so I'm not looking at that time.

We went in February 2 years ago. We went for a week right before Valentine's Day.

Some days it was cold where we wore coats or a sweater/sweatshirt. Other days it was warm and we got away with shorts or pants but short sleeves. One day it rained. That was the coldest day also.

It was not crowded at all while we were there. Some rides were down for refurbishment such as splash mountain.

Firework shows and other night time things are earlier since it is shorter park hours and gets dark faster. This was to our benefit since our kids are early to bed, early to rise.

I'm sorry to hear you have to delay your trip. But at least you can reschedule. I would just avoid the 16th-24th. Other than that you should be fine.

Definitely avoiding that week. I'm thinking either Feb. 3-11 or Feb. 24-March 3. The TP numbers for the later dates are lower than the earlier ones, so that's throwing me a bit. But earlier is cheaper.

We are going Feb 22-Mar 2. We did this exact time period in 2011 and did not find the crowds to be too crazy. Come the 24th President's week crowd is gone. Still busy but not overwhelming.

ETA-Great weather too.

Yea, looking at the refurb schedule, we will more than likely go with the Feb. 24-March 3 dates. The Tea Cups are down until Feb. 18. Those are my youngest's favorite, we rode A LOT last trip, lol.

In 2009 we were able to swim a couple of times, and the other days were pleasant (i.e., cooler) temps.
We went the 7th-14th, and my only regret was that I had forgotten how much of a big deal Valentine's Day was in the pre-school.
DD got over it, though.;)
We loved the walk-on rides!

Btw, we had planned a December trip, too - and also had to postpone it due to a family illness. The hardest thing was cancelling all those great ADR's! It all worked out, though, because this was back at the time of the 4/7 deal with the gift card thrown in, so we got to stay longer. :cool1:

We went the end of Jan/start of Feb in 2010. It was very cold, but that winter was a record cold one. We still managed to have fun - with only one day being so cold that I had to take more breaks inside. (My youngest was 11 months old then so we hung out at Sea World's baby care center a lot that day to warm up- it was very conviently located!) The crowds at that end of Jan/start of Feb were the lowest we've ever seen - and we go in the off season.

If you want to risk the cold less, then late Feb would be better. Keep in mind too that some schools have a Feb break, though I don't know what week that normally is - it was a full week off in mid-Feb when I was a kid.

"Warmth" at the end of Feb is easily handled. Even if it's warm for that time of year, the mornings will likely start out cool and dry and then warm up during the day. And then cool down again at the end. So it's not the hot and humid of the summer that lasts the entire day. It doesn't get as hot, nor as humid, nor last as long.

Looks like we're at a standoff, lol. My DH wants the earlier week, I was leaning towards the later week but only because my son's beloved Tea Cups would be open by then. :lmao:

I'm was trying to look at dining to see what kind of ADRs are still available but the site seems to be down.

We are going 2/23 - 3/4 and got everything we wanted for the times we wanted including BOG. I just booked them all a week or two ago so well into the 180 mark.

BOG & 'Ohana for dinner, those are the 2 I'm most worried about not being able to get. I just checked & there's nothing any night for either of the weeks we're looking at for either. :headache:

We went 2/23 - 3/3 for our honeymoon in 2009 (our first trip to WDW) and thought it was a great time! The crowds were moderate, weather wasn't crazy hot (the average day was in the 70s....one day was in the high 80s and then the next day was sideways rain and low 60s).

The crowds were starting to thin out after the Presidents Day craziness.

We would definitely go back then! :thumbsup2

That is our favorite time of year because of the low crowds. We usually go the last week of January or first week of February because it is about 1/2 way between my daughters birthdays. I will say it can be pretty cold though! We've had times that we needed gloves, but we are from Florida so we aren't as used to the cold weather. :) We were thinking of doing a Christmas trip this year, but it is so hard for me to think about going up with the crowds and more expensive rooms.

Mass. School vacations are the week of the 15th, I would try to avoid that time. Earlier in the month you might catch the super bowl mvp at the parade.

We'll be there 2/21 to 3/2 during NH school vacations. We've been very lucky with weather at the end of Feburary during our last three trips; 2011 weather was great, but crowds were worse because in our district in NH we were lined up with President's week vacation last year, instead of the week after as we normally are.

If it were me I would go earlier in February because it's less time to wait until then! :rolleyes1

I had the same thought, lol! But it looks like the later dates may be working out better for us. The airfare change isn't as bad & I can add a day to the trip if we go then! :rolleyes1
