Can you still leave a case of sealed waters with the porter?

We last cruised in Jan 2017 and on that cruise we left a sealed 24 pack of water with our luggage at the curb. We put a luggage tag on it and it arrived in our room with our luggage later.

I can't seem to find anything online to say whether or not this is still allowed. Does anyone know?

I thought all beverages had to be carried on because of the way the "luggage" was handled. Violently and without regard for its durability; liquids leaking if the container is crushed, causing damage. That sort of thing.

I too am not enthusiastic about wheeling a carryon with a 24 pack in it all morning, but I am cheap and refuse to pay $40 for it to be delivered to my room. For now anyway.

It was never allowed by DCL. However, porters do not work for DCL and will stick labels on pretty much anything and DCL lets them through. If a bottle bursts and you damage someone else’s luggage, you will be billed with the dry cleaning.

No. It has never been allowed by Disney, however the porters don't work for DCL so they will take it. All liquids are to be bought on by you. If you check any kind of liquid and it leaks on another's luggage you will be responsible for any damages caused.

Interesting. Our neighbor told us to do it and we didn't question it. I'm suprised Disney didn't just confiscate it!

and DCL lets them through.
Not always.

For any beverages brought onboard, DCL requirements say that they are to be carried onboard (in/as your carry on bags).

Will the porters just smile, say yes, and put a luggage tag on it? Yes, as they don't work for DCL. But it's not how it should be done.

Its not worth the trouble. The water on board the ship is produced exactly the same as what you'll get in your store bought bottled water. Just bring along a refillable mug.

Thanks all. We will make sure to have a carryon to put it in this time. I’m glad I asked.

How much water can you carry on? I thought we were limited to 2 bottles per cabin?

The carry on beverage policy is 2 bottles of WINE (max 750ml ea) per guest 21 and over OR 6 beers (max 12 oz ea) per guest 21 and over. Any non-alcoholic beverages brought onboard have no maximum number. Just whatever you can/want to wrangle before you can get them to your room when you board.

I know, but we both know from reading posts here that DCL does not remove them from the luggage pile and actually delivers them. If I was them, I would pull them from the x-ray line and confiscate them, but they unfortunately do not, risking damage to our luggage.

OP, just put your water in a wheeled duffle bag or wheeled carry on bag to make it easier to manage till your room is ready. That is what we do. We just bring a few bottles onboard and refill them. The water onboard is great!!

I dont have the time to look this up...is it 12 or 6 beers per guest. I could have sworn 6 was the max per guest.

Plus you can replenish your alcohol allotment at ports (except castaway)
