Can you still have fun if you bring babies?

When we took my baby sister a year or so ago it was worth it because despite some of the stuff you have to carry you will have memories that are wonderful and that you can share with them when they are older.

We took DS at 3, 5, and 11 months and had a ball each time. At 3 and 5 months he still slept a lot and was a very easy baby. You'll actually be surprised how many young babies there are. We didn't feel it was a hassle at all. But as DVC members and AP holders we've done everything a million times and weren't on a schedule.

I am planning on it. We are going with our almost 8 month old in 18 days. I want to see the mouse and it has been way to long. I figure we will use a similar touring plan as we did when I was pg so I am not worried.

Good luck ttc

I would make sure that they like or are use to riding in a stroller--or some other mode of easy transporation, like a sling or something. I think the only problem you might have is if you baby doesn't enjoy riding in the stroller.

Babies are the easiest to take!! They dont complain about what rides to go on or who gets to sit where! It will probably be the easiest trip with 2 kids you will ever take!

Nursing was a life saver. The water at the park is undesirable imo, especially for use for babies, and you would have to bring water as well as all the other materials for bottle feeding. There are diaper changing areas everywhere and alot of rides are baby friendly. I was told that pretty much anything without height restrictions is baby friendly, and alot of those rides you can wear your baby in a carrier or sling.

Just a note, please consider the "what ifs". Both of my boys did not come when planned. I tried for 6 months with ds1 before we were pg with him and we were pg with ds2 4 months before we "planned" him. You could either be very pg on your trip or have a very new newborn (neither of which I would travel with). I would wait at least until your baby is 8-10 weeks before going. I wish you luck on your future trip and future little one!

We took my DD 4 and the baby at 4 mos. Seriously, the baby was easier!! She slept most of the time.. We had her formula in the ready to drink bottles where you just attach the disposable nipple. We stopped at baby centers to change her when we went by one. She was just happy to watch all the sites...The 4 year old had all the demands ;)

No offense, but if you're worried about taking a vacation with a baby, how are you going to live regular life with a baby? There's a lot of toting of stuff with a baby; you just have to get used to it. ;)

Like many people have said, going with a baby is easier than going with a toddler. We're going with both in March, and I am far more worried about chasing around my 2 year old that I am about taking the then-6 month old.

Hope you have an awesome trip and all the plans work out. :thumbsup2

Oh please - GO GO GO. I've done it since my kids were born. Yeah there is all the "stuff", but so what. Just keep the little one cool, because they get prickly heat and their backs get sweaty in the stroller. There are lots of cool rides that babies can be on too, like small world etc.

Babies are easy.... it's the toddlers that are hard.
Have fun!

;) I'm due the same day as you! My baby was not *quite* a Disney Souvenir... More like a Christmas present!
Our Disney trip in Dec 07 was the 1st week of the month, hehehe.

I'm sure you can, but I need a pep talk. ;) We're trying to arrange a trip for fall 2009 (a while from now, but we have family all over we're trying to get with us). We'll be TTC at the end of this year so if all goes as planned we'll have a four-month-old to bring with us to Disney.

We went to WDW last fall for DD's 4th birthday and it was great - we didn't have to carry around bottles or diapers or worry about finding a place to change her or worrying about carrying her around, etc. I'm concerned that having to drag a baby and all its gear around all day will put a damper on the vacation. Somebody tell me I'm worrying for nothing!

Well, there is baby stuff to drag along...UNLESS you forget your diaper bag, back in your room, which is what I done once at WDW.

We were NOT trekking all the way back for it, so I went to the baby center and was able to get the stuffI needed for not much money. DS was about 18 months old then.

WDW is one of the few places you can show up with NOTHING for your kid except the clothes he has on, and still get through the day.

We took our DS at 12 weeks, almost 5 months, and again at almost 8 months, and while our "attack of the parks" routine has changed, we still had fun on all 3 trips. Like others have mentioned (and I have also mentioned in other posts) the baby centers are terrific, and great spots to cool down and change the baby. There are going to be attractions to skip, but there is still so so much that you CAN do with a baby! Good luck and have fun TTC:thumbsup2 !!!

My son's first trip to WDW was at 3 months old (our DD was 25 months then), we took him back at 15 months and again when he was 22 months. When he was an infant, I brought my sling and the bjorn and we did fine!:thumbsup2 Also, my DS was allergic to disposable diapers, so he was there in cloth for all those trips.

My DD will be 13 months when we go and DNephew will be 8 months! I cannot wait to bring them! I think like most people said, this is an easier age than it will be in another year or so! Good luck!!

We went last year when our baby was just 3 months and it was the best vacation! We booked another for this year and the baby will be 18 months old then so it can't be that bad that we're willing to do it again! Yes, you do need lots of extras.....clothing, bibs, bottles, diaper, wipes, but it's so worth it. Disney goes out of your way to make it easy...the baby centers are fantastic and to be honest, it was nice to sneak off and feed the baby in the a/c while Daddy took care of the others! :rotfl: Have a great time, you won't regret it!!
