Sorry to do this to all you stroller question veterans, but I am looking for a low priced umbrella stroller with a canopy. Our canopy broke at WDW last year and we had to remove it because of exposed metal. Our son is just 3, so he doesn't use a stroller at home, this will be just for our trip this year and in 2002.
The cheapest w/ canopy I've found is $30 at Babys R Us. Target didn't have anything less than $45. There are lots of low priced ones without canopies, but if anyone knows of one that may help me out, please let me know.
Thanks

Try there. They always have canopy umbrellas in stock, w/ and w/o recline. However, if your DS is 3, you may find that the flat canopy will now sit on his head! If you really want to go cheap, I'd advise looking at consignment stores for a cheapie, or just buy one of the clamp-on Graco sun umbrellas for $10.

I bought one specifically for WDW, we leave in the morning! I got it at Sears.com, baby store. It was $25. It has a canopy, big basket, removable tray but doesn't recline. My petite 3-1/2yoDD fits in it great. (I got lucky and pregnant SIL will pay 1/2 and get a 1-week old, used umbrella stroller for later trips to the mall, etc.)

$20 right now at JCPenney. I just saw them there yesterday, so I know they are still there (I bought 2 about 6 months ago for my boys). The cheapest NON-canopy one is Walmart, $10. But, that canopy is worth every penny of $!0 - my kids are blond and fair.

Oops! I should have added, my oldest is 3 1/2 (and not short) and the canopy does not sit on his head - it is plenty high enough. These do not recline or have a basket, but I am always able to loop my bag (or you could do one of those mesh bags) on the handles. Good luck!

Cheap may seem the way to go however beaware of the cheap ones Tipping easy. if you find a good one for around 35-45 $ then get it , you will beable to use it other times as well and it will to steady.
I just got one from In step for I believe 45 and my son is 21/2 32 pounds and 39 inches tall,, big Boy. and it is comfort for all the handles even move up and down is if I have him the handles are down if DH at 6'6 has him they are UPPPPP.
Cheap not always Best with saftey.

If you know someone in town, or have a rental car and some time to kill, the Children's store "Once upon a child" has umbrella strollers with canopies for rent by the day or week. I think it is $3 a day. We were going to do that but ended up buying it for $30 because we needed it for 5 days and that would pay for half of it. It doesn't have a basket but we used a mesh bag. It reclines, but I am sure they have others without the reclining feature. This store also rents out jogging strollers, pack and plays, high chairs, booster seats, etc. I'm pretty sure there is one in Orlando. Might be good to check it out.

My Dh solved this one himself--he went to a resale shop (much like ONce Upon a Child, which we also have here in Toledo) and found a Graco umbrella stroller with a canopy and a nice basket. It doesn't fold as small as my old one (which I couldn't give away at my garage sale) but it will be great for the parks. It cost $15 and is in great shape. The woman said she'd give us $7.50 back for it after our trip, but f it works out I'll probably keep it for 2002!
