Hey everyone,
We are new to DVC with our first trip planned for December. I was wondering if I could ship a package and have a grocery order delivered? I was not sure if I could do both? I am not talking some craze sized package...
Thank you!:thumbsup2

Yes and Yes. I haven't personally shipped a package. I have had groceries delivered. They go to the place next to the front desk (I forget what it's called.) You let them know when you'll be in your room and they will deliver it (and accept tips).

FYI if you are shipping a package (even to yourself) to a resort with an attached convention center, Disney will charge you a small fee to retrieve the package. No convention center, package pickup is free.

What the PP was referring to is Bell Services. And they will also keep the part of your grocery order refrigerated and part of it frozen as the items dictate. Really an awesome service. They can even receive your grocery delivery the afternoon before you arrive and store it, if you are getting in on a major holiday when the delivery services are closed. We did this on New Years Day 2014.

Thank you! Do you know if AKL Kidani have a convention center?

It doesn't. Shipping to yourself there should be free to receive. Have a great trip!

One year I ordered some clothes from Hanna Andersson (realized the day before we left that my kids desperately needed sweat jackets, sweat pants and tee shirts as they had suddenly grown!) and had it shipped overnight to the Boardwalk. Imagine my surprise when the first day we returned to the room and found they had delivered it straight up to our room (rather than calling to let us know we had a package). I thought the BW had a convention center, but they didn't charge us (and were so kind to deliver it straight to us). So I don't know if they always charge. It seems that the Swan and Dolphin state that they will charge, but I've never been charged to ship a small/medium size box there in the past either. I think they reserve the right to charge if you're shipping larger boxes (maybe samples or things for a convention, which I would understand as it's work for them to get it to you).

Last spring we used Garden Grocer for the second time, and found it to be so convenient! I loved the time it saved! I'll definitely use them again! We had a couple of bags of leftover stuff at the end, and the bell services people were super happy to receive the stuff, especially the girl on the college program (they don't make much, so she was thrilled with free groceries and most unopened that I had actually brought from home).

Your experience was unusual. If staying at Boardwalk, a package shipped UPS or FedEx is supposed to go to the Convention Center. A package shipped USPS is supposed to go to the front desk. You can ask to have it brought up to your room, but it is not supposed to happen automatically.

Since OP is staying at Kidani, the package should go to the front desk at Kidani.

And yes, you can have a package shipped to you and have Garden Grocer deliver to you on the same trip. I've done it twice. (Snacks and drinks from Garden Grocer; the special soap and moisturizer that the doctor recommended and other stuff like that shipped from home to store in my Owner's Locker.)

How much from boardwalk to closest supermarket ? And what's the name ?
