Can you book a speciality cruise to see Wishes? I thought it was only for Illuminations but someone posted a while back about being in a boat and seeing Wishes! If this is possible, can someone give me the details?

Thanks!

I have a Wishes cruise scheduled for May to celebrate my 40th and ds's 5th. It leaves the Contemporary (though I think you can leave from other docks as well) about 45 minutes before Wishes begins. The basic cruise is $120 (including tax, not including tip), and I think cancellation is 48 hours. The boat holds 12 people. There is also a Grand Gatherings cruise that includes characters and you pay by the person. I don't know much about that.

Anyone who has done this want to share more info? I haven't told my family about this yet, but I am so excited! Please no storms on May 11!

Bethbuchall,

How did you find out about this? Do they assure you that you will see the fireworks? How far out can they be booked? Sorry about the many ques.(LOL) This would be something that my family would LOVE for our July trip.

Hi

We're hoping to book a fireworks cruise to see Wishes in October 2004. We had an illuminations speciality cruise in October 2003 and it was fantastic.

You can book the specialty cruises 90 days out. As far as I know if you book the evening cruise you are guaranteed to see the fireworks show. We did it in Jan and are doing it again in April. They view is awsome! I now prefer Wishes from the boat, rather than being in the MK. The music was not piped in, but supposedly they are begining to pipe it into some of the boats. I think for the money it is one of the most magical things you can do. We have done both Wishes and Illuminations cruises and I prefer the Wishes cruise. By the way, the Wishes cruise also takes you around to the different resorts and the captains are full of great Disney trivia. We also got to see the Electric Water Parade from our boat. It was nice to see it from a different view other than the beach at the Poly. I think I learned about the cruises from Deb's site.

-How did you find out about this?
I think I was reading about the Illuminations cruise. I believe it would be too much for DD2 so I booked the Wishes cruise instead. Also, the Illuminations cruises are as hard to get as a PS for CRT!

-Do they assure you that you will see the fireworks?
If there are fireworks that night, you will see them.

-How far out can they be booked?
They can be booked 90 days out by calling 1-407-wdw-play.

I have a wishes cruise booked for May21st, leaving the WL.

Thank you all so Much! I will certainly try for this on my 90 day mark. I hope it doesn't stress me out as much as trying to get Cindy's does. (lol)

Hey again! I just popped over to Deb's site to read about the Specialty cruises and it said they are at 6:00 and 8:00 (P.M.) and they are 50 min. long. If the fireworks are at 10:00 P.M., then we wouldn't be able to see them from the cruise. Is this right or am I missing something? We are going in July.

I did the fireworks cruise for my son's 13th birthday. It was great! We had stayed at the GF so we left the dock from there. The boat was all decorated for him with balloons and banners. We had snacks, soda, and a birthday cake. It was the perfect spot to watch the fireworks. Prior to getting to the perfect spot, they drive you around the lagoon and tell you interesting facts about the hotels, people who have visited there, etc. It was a great time and my kids and I loved it. Just remember to put bug repellent on as the bugs can get a bit annoying.

Oh yeah, I tried to booked the Illuminations cruise but it was sold out, so we did the Magic Kingdom cruise instead. The fireworks were at the end of the cruise, then we headed back to the dock. We had done this in August.

When you call to get the reservation, you tell them you want the fireworks cruise. They tell you that the time of the cruise may change. It is up to you to call and check the time of the cruise closer to the date. The person making the reservation at WDW Play will tell you a projected time. If you are not able to get a cruise, check these boards. People are always trying to share specialty cruises, and not just Illuminations. We have done the Birthday Cruise and it was wonderful! I just decided that for $100, I could have a really nice cake at one of the restraunts and more of our group could attend. ( only 12 people can go on the boat) We have had beautiful cakes at Ohana's for $40 dollars! On another birthday we did dinner and the chocolate slippers at 1900 Parkfare and then went on to the cruise to celebrate. You can sometimes get a lot of magic for that extra $100.
