Can you recommend a pizza stone?

my cookie sheet is not doing a good job baking in the middle of the pizza.
I would prefer a rectangular shape not round.
thank you!

I have the Large Bar Pan from Pampered Chef I think it is around $30. I bought it about two years ago and I use it almost every day (I make pizza on it, rolls, fries, fish sticks and pretty much anything else you can think of) I just keep it in my oven and it is always ready to use.

ETA: Cookies are the best when cooked on this too.

I second the Pampered Chef Stoneware. I have lots of stoneware and won't bake without it.

Target and Bed Bath and Beyond also carry Pizza Stones - the trick is to make sure you get it hot - preheat the oven to 450deg F - then you put a bit of cornmeal on it -

and bake away...

Or you can go to Home Depot and get 2 12x12 unglazed Saltillo tiles for $1.29/ea ;) (or one 18x18 if you can find one). I not only use them for my pizza, but a la alton brown keep a pair in the bottom of my gas oven to better regulate the temp.

Another vote for Pampered Chef. I have large round and the bar pan. We use them both ALL the time.

Ditto on the Pampered Chef bar pan. Mine is about 7 years old and is used at least 3 times a week.

I have the older pizza stone with no handles and don't like it, but the newer ones have side to hold onto.

Nothing beats that bar pan though

That's what I was going to recommend!

Whatever stone you use, don't preheat the oven much before you stick it in or it may crack.

I love my pampered chef stones (in fact I have 2). You don't have to preheat the stone, so I can roll out the pizza dough and put it right into the oven.

Pampered chef, I have several from their pizza stones to large bar pans to smaller bar pans and I am very happy with everything. My pizza stone is actually 15 years old and is just as good as the day I bought it.

I vote for Pampered Chef stones as well.

I love my Pampered Chief pizza stone. I have had my large round one for 9 years and a small one for about 2 years. I bought a square Onieda stone about 3 months ago. It is more porous than the PC. The verdict is till out on that one.

Pampered chef stones are nice, but overpriced. The reason you hear so many votes for them is that many people (including me) were introduced to stones at a PC party- Now....I have broken 2 or 3 PC stones over the years,(Love them) and decided that with my cooking and breaking habits,I will use the cheaper stones- they are the same- you can get a round pizza stone for about 15.00 with free shipping on Amazon,so Now I have 2 for the price of one PC stone...and we LOVE our homemade pizza nights! (my family says my pizzas are better than any 'bought' pizza we've ever tried)
They all start out sort of whitish stone, and mellow down into a lovelly dark brown after a lot of use

I have pampered chef stoneware that I have used for the last 12 years+, but I have to say that unless there is a certain shape you are looking for in my experience stoneware is stoneware. When my PC pizza stone broke, I bought one at Target for under $8 and couldn't tell the difference after it was seasoned. That one is still going strong many years later. I also have some Pfaltzgraff stones that are much thicker and they work just as well too. The reason I thought the OP should try the tile was because of the shape she wanted. They also have terra cotta tiles in rectangle shapes at the do it yourself stores that get the job done just as well.

I love my pampered chef stones too! I use them all the time and have had them for years. I bake everything on them. Cookies and dinner rolls come out great.
