Can you recommend a loop when renting the cabins?

It is official, a group of 12 will be going to the Fort April 25, 2015. I will be renting 3 cabins and I wondered which loop should I ask for? We want the cabins to be near or next to each other if possible. Also we will be renting golf carts to get around. Thanks for any advice. So glad that everything is finally all set!

thumpersfriend,

Doesn't it feel good to get plans set? The best way to get close to each other is to "link" reservation numbers. That is, if there are three folks each with a cabin reservation, they should share reservation numbers and EACH person call the Disney reservation line and ask to have the other two reservation numbers added to their reservation. That's the best way I know of for multiple sites/cabins to get close together (works for camp sites as well).

What loop to request depends on what you want.

Want to be close to the rest of the Fort? Loops 2100, 2200, or 2300 (bus stop in front of 2200).

Want to be close to the quiet pool? Loops 2500 or 2600 (another bus stop close between these).

Want a quiet loop where the bus noise or people noise is minimal? Back of 2800.

Here is a map of the Fort for reference: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/fortwilderness.htm

Spring is a beautiful time at the Fort. I was there in April 2013 and it was wonderful.

We will be checking in this Saturday, we are going to try and get the 2800 loop, We have probably stayed in all of them over the last 23 yrs but the 2800 and 2500 are two of our favorites. Cant wait for this weekend!! :)

Thanks Bama_Ed, I think I am going to reserve all the cabins and they will pay me, good to know that might be good to get reservations near each other. All the loops have their advantages, thanks for sharing them with me. We have been in the cabins twice and I remember they were near the quiet pool, we liked that. But being where it is really quiet sounds good too. We are bringing our dil's sister and her husband and 2 kids that have never been to Disneyworld so it will be fun showing them around. They are very low key so I think the cabins will be perfect. Thanks again, I always appreciate it when you answer my threads , it really helps.

we were there in December and were in the 2200 loop. I loved it! It was our
first stay and we are going to do a whole week next December. 2200 was very
quiet and was very close to everything also. I could walk to the comfort station to do laundry and the bus was just steps away.

I have a question I hope the experts can answer. We drove all around on our
golf cart and noticed two cabins that seemed out of place - they were right next to campers and tents- they were close to the settlement store- I think? They just seemed out of place. Also- is it possible to rent a larger golf cart? We had a 4-seater but it was hard to sit in the back with my son- special needs- and think a larger cart would be better for him.

Thanks for any help!

thumper my friend,

ISWYDT. (I Saw What You Did There). I'll address it tomorrow.

dsmom,

there are two cabins for VIPs in loop 100. They are NOT available for special requests (or else they'd be used 24x7). The cabins are in the usual assignment rotation and we have a few posters who have stayed in them.

The Fort/Disney does rent 6-seater golf carts for $79 plus tax per day. But they don't have many.

Thing is, there is no guarantee of getting one. You can request it but they won't hold a 6'er for you. It is what it is.

Anyone know the bumper-to-bumper length of a six seater? Wondering if we get one, whether we would need a longer trailer. Sorry if this is a topic hijack.

We have stayed a number of times in the 2500 loop. If you ask for the first ones on the left you can walk to the pool, showers, laundry and extra bathrooms in just a minute or two. The drive in the cart to the beach is a little long but we found these rides to be great fun.

After 20 years of asking we stayed in the cabins in the 100 loop but honestly found we preferred the peace and quiet of 2500.

Any way you cut it I would prefer the worst loop to the best cubicle!:cool1:

ok thumpersfriend.

I saw your original post to me before you edited it.

You mocked me correctly because I didn't read your post clearly where you said that you (I) were paying for three sites.

And, humbly, I have to say you were right. I screwed up. And you were toying with me like a cat with a big ball of yarn. I deserved it.

But the question I have for you is, do you trust them to repay you?

Or do you have some inlaws who are outlaws?

Bama Ed

PS-just kidding with you thumpersfriend. :thumbsup2

Hi there Bama_Ed, I would never mock you, very sorry if you felt that way. The post I edited was because I posted and it kicked me off and I did not think it was posted. So I wrote it again, trying to remember what I said and posted , so I scrolled way down and there was the other post! It was very odd to me. They better pay me, but at least I am getting points on my Visa to help pay for the golf cart, lol. The more I try to plan, the more I think this could end up a big nightmare, hopefully it goes okay. I really appreciate all the help you give to all of us.

thanks everyone, think it will be between 2500 or 2800. Maybe someone could tell me what loop Moccasin Trail is? I think this was where we stayed before and liked it. Do they still have names for the loops?
