Can you rebook for 2005 while on board?

We are taking the 3 day cruise on August 28, 2003 and we were thinking about booking a 7 day cruise while on board. My question is, what dates will we be able to get? Can we book a cruise for August, 2005 (two years from date of cruise) or will we have to pick something earlier?

I posted this same question several weeks ago. Last I looked, 2005 dates are not available. What was suggested to me was to book for anything in 2004 and switch the date when 2005 opens up. I plan to use my Disney Visa so I don't have to pay the deposit for 6 months either!
We need to have something to look forward to or I am afraid I won't be able to be dragged off the boat!

I asked a similar question a few days ago as my parents 50th anniversary is June 2005. I have my brother's family sold on a Disney cruise to mark the occasion and am working on my sister's. Anyhow, the CM told me that they only have dates through 2004 and her best advice was to "check on-line every week" - she had no idea when any 2005 dates and rates would be made available.

I was on the May 17th Eastern Cruise and booked on board, but wanted a May 2005 date. What Donna did was booked me for December 2004 and she told me to call DCL around July and see if the dates for 2005 have been released and if so I can transfer the reservation and deposit to the new date.

I was told on the Magic last week that they only had dates up to 18 months in advance.

I Luv Disney Cruise - do you get to transfer the stateroom credit that you receive for onboard booking if you transfer the reservation to a future date?

Yes, you do still get the stateroom credit. I recently had to change my date and it is still there.

You get to keep stateroom credit. You know what? I just saw the thread about Costco's prices are cheaper then directly through the DCL. I wonder if it is worth checking into? Of course, I would lose my credit if I go through them. We have a new Costco that just opened up May 15th. I will have to check it out soon.

Laura...If you transfer your existing reservation you shouldn't lose your credit, but I would wait till you pick the date you actually want to sail in 2005.

I am quite certain (although haven't tried it yet) that you can transfer the cruise booked onboard to a TA - your choice - even after you leave the ship.

As far as Costco goes - I was very lucky - a new one opened nearby and they gave away free memberships for Sams Club members. I used that number to obtain a quote on my already booked cruise (through AAA). The cost was about $200 less. I called the AAA agent who gladly met the Costco price. Really worked for me!

Laura...You missed me!!! Thank You! I missed you all even more. I was out of sorts all week, It was a very LOOONG week. Everyday at work I would say...OK Today they are at sea, Today they are in St Martin etc. etc.

I rebooked for August 2004, hopefully it will pan out.

Joanna: My sister-in-law is getting married this November 1st and both me and my husband are in the wedding. She told me that since I am pregnant she will completely understand if I tell her later that I can't be in it. I will be a little over 36 weeks pregnant! I will be wearing almost the same dress. It looks exactly alike compared to the other bridesmaid's dress except it has a tie back and it isn't spaghetti strap but a strap that is about 1 to 2 inches thick.

Good luck with you upcoming cruise in 2004. We are holding off next year and going in 2005. My parents are going in May of 2004. This will be weird for us not to go on a cruise at the same time.
