Can you really wear CROCS all day long at Disney ??

I'm probably in the minority here, but I am really trying to understand the allure of crocs. What is all the hype supposed to be about with them?

I have been to the mall and seen the authentic crocs and tried them on. They don't seem any comfier than my normal sneakers and feel kind of weird to me. I guess I also just can't get past the fact that are far from being an attractive looking shoe/sandal-at least the clog type ones (IMO).

Do the majority of you wear the flip flop style? We just returned from Disney yesterday after a weeks vacation there, and I was looking for croc wearers all over...but we only saw 1 person wearing them the entire time-and that was at the water park. I was kind of surprised because the crocs seem to be a constant topic on these boards and I thought I'd see them everywhere. Does everyone really wear them all the time? I'm wanting to get on the bandwagon here, but having a hard time. :confused3

I too was like you and very skeptical. I've run a lot in my life between school and the Navy. As a guy I had an even harder time embracing the thought of wearing them in public. But if you read my previous post, I gave them a pretty good workout last month on a marathon trip trhough 2 parks in one day and they were really great. Yes it does take some getting use to and I would do that before going to Disney, getting to Italy in WS and deciding you don't like them is not a good place to make that decision. One good thing though is they are light as a feather in case you did need to pack them in a back pack to the room. Pick up a pair of them, they don't weigh much mor ethan a pair of socks. You can also keep an eye out in the forums and get a discount code to use at shoebuy.com and get them for as cheap as $20. Thats a STEAL for a pair of shoes that you can wear to Disney, I would not DREAM of even buying a $20 pair of Nikes to walk that much in.

Read this guy's testimonial though. He ran TWO marathons in a pair of clog plus the training miles before the marathons. If that doesn't tell you something about them then you may as well stop reading this post and ignore every Croc thread you ever see here.

As for not seeing them much in Disney, you have to rememebr that the DIS board is a microcosm of Disney, we are a very small part of who goes to the world. So what you ready here about Crocs everywhere, roving gangs of kids on Heelys pushing old women down on Main St, and the massive failure rate of the plastic card keys that you get at the Disney resort is a drop in the bucket to what REALLY goes on at Disney. They are there, the 20' circumference that you can see people's feet at any one time around you gives you no clue as to what is really in the park. They are very popular there and everywhere else for that matter.
